What might have been had Davies not been injured that night or say he recovered to such a degree that BB decided to bring him into camp in May 2010? Would he have selected him to join the roster? What if Buddle or Gomez had not re-emerged on the scene? Say they scored a few goals and just went cold up until May of that year. Who would BB had brought to WC as strikers? Would he have just played Clint up top with Altidore? Would he have brought EJ or Adu? Even if they were not scoring enough. Would they then have started?
My my, if only their was a time machine, and I convinced Davies to go back to the hotel instead of hanging with hoes, and Ghana wasn't as good, and that we could have owned Algeria, and that Bob Bradley changed his tatics to play possesion, attacking soccer, and that Sunil Gulati was fired, and that the youth program got a complete overhaul, and that we would win a youth world cup, and that "Project 2018" would be in the works, and that I could yell "BRIBERY!!!!!1111one!1one1!!!!" at the FIFA World Cup Host conference and get USA to host the 2022 World Cup, and that Chepo de la torre never was hired, and that USA would win the 2011 Gold Cup, and that Timothy Chandler played Leftback against the Mexican game, and that Tim Ream played better as a defender, and that Bornstein would be the best defender in the world, and that Bocanegra would take the "Fountain of youth" and be young again, and that Onyewu never got injured, and that I could convince Holden to not play against Manchester United that very day, and that Agudelo would play for another team other than New York, and that J.F. Torres would be the next best thing, and that I could convince Rossi and Subotic to stay in the United States.

Best case scenario, we beat Ghana and then lose to Uruguay. Yes, a QF trip would have been nice, but I don't think the SF were in the cards and getting to the final or winning it were completely out of the question. Davies, Holden, no matter who starts in CM, regardless of BB's tactics.
You know what your problem is? Your problem is that you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck...
What exactly are you talking about? Were you talking to me? There's this nice QUOTE feature that makes it ever so much clearer. I pity people who can't figure out the quote function. Also, are you saying you still have dreams about us going really far in the 2010 WC? Do you watch the replay and think, "This time, were going to beat Ghana and then if we beat Uruguay we'd be in the semifinals! And then, who knows, anything could happen! We could be in the final!" Look, I was thinking that too at the time. But it is over. We lost. I'd much prefer to focus on what is possible in 2014 rather than continue to moan and groan about what could have been in 2010. There is nothing we can do about 2010. There is still hope for 2014. I pity people who can't tell the difference.
