We never get enough credit for this. Best thing RB's done since the Metromorphosis - arguably even better than RBA - has been the emphasis on grassroots youth development. Others have copied, or pretended to copy, our club's efforts, but this is an area where we should be very proud.
Unfortunately with Backe, our homegrown talent signs contracts in order to sit on the bench or to play 10 minutes sporadically.....
Haven't we been working on a training academy sense 2008. I mean really come on now. Also whats worse is that they plan to do it in Hamburg, NJ. That is over an hour away from Red Bull Arena. The training ground should be at most 20-25 minutes away from Red Bull Arena.
Latest I heard (little over a month ago) was they were no longer interested in Hanover (not Hamburg) but thinking of a location in or near Kearny, which makes much more sense.
