So there are all these rules about posting results and then you send an email newsletter this morning with the MLS Champion named in the subject line?! Come on man! I got in late last night and had the game recorded so I could watch it after work today. WTF!?! I'm so disappointed in BS. Needless to say I've unsubscribed from the BigSoccer Newsletter.
Those rules have only ever applied to the message board -- not the front page, not anything else, just the message board.
The rules are a ridiculous anachronism that should be done away with. It's next to impossible to not find out results of sporting events that have already occurred. If people want to avoid results, then they should avoid all contact with the modern world until they have a chance to watch whatever they happened to DVR, lest their results be "spoiled." And really, are then any people outside of whiny soccer fans who complain about this sort of stuff?
Same insight on this he's been posting for about a decade. I still like the [R] as a courtesy on the boards. Beyond that, nope.
Bear in mind that Mr. Eritrea's viewpoint is probably not the majority view - as Knave says, this is just basic netiquette that lots of message boards follow. Sorry the result was spoiled for you though.
