Off to Manchester for our first real game of the season, the other 11 don't count you see... we've played nobody apparently. This is the first of two weeks in Manchester, which sounds like a very disappointing holiday. We have a problem on the wings with Marveaux out and needing surgery and Obertan seems to be unlikely to be back from his toe problem. Also not sure at this point whether Tiote is back from his injury that just seems to be rumbling on. Having Tiote and Cabaye back in the center could be very important for us. HBA might come back in and get a start behind the front two, but that would be a very attacking formation to take to Citeh. Speaking of whom its his first trip back to the Etihad since De Jong mashed his leg last year. This of course is the meeting of the only two teams in the league that are still undefeated, and the media as a whole is expecting to sit back and watch us get spanked. It may well happen but this team keeps on surprising us, whatever happens its still been a dream start to the season. Kick off is 3pm GMT, Howay the Lads and discuss.
Tiote's out, apparently. Leaves us short on the right wing as Guthrie will probably slot in centrally. Anyone's guess. On an only-tenuously-related note, Citeh posted a nearly 200m loss today for the last year. Talk about buying trophies....
The first game back from international breaks always fill me with the biggest sense of dread. You never know who is going to be out due to being tired, travel etc. And you don't get the injury updates from the club until right at the end. Thankfully an undefeated open to our season saw Jonas and Colo left behind for Argentina. We'll scrape out a draw, I'm sure. Thx, Jay!
It should be a good match. Play the counter sit back and congest the midfield. Let's get point and stay unbeaten.
That's two goals Raylor has cost us now... as we all feared, not playing a left back there catches up with us.
On the plus side, there's still a half to go and we have had chances, we've been 4 down at half time before and got a point. Howay the lads! Santon's looking nailed on to start next week though. Even if we lose, everyone's expecting that anyway so... nowt to lose.
HBA soooo unlucky, hits the post. Incidentally he's been immense today, nobody can get the ball off him.
im impressed with the attitude of going after the game. much better in the last 10 minutes. fair number of chances
Another penalty against Newcastle? How much of ManCity's operating loss came from purchasing officials?
This headline is ridiculous. 3-1 is a not a dismantling... media was just waiting to pounce. City dismantle Newcastle to go clear
