Big ups to our hometown Ponies. Win 3 straight games to take home their first CUSA Championship since 2006. FCD Academy product Jaime Ibarra with shutouts in the semifinal and final and Arthur Ivo, my soccer crush, with another sick game. I really hope FCD drafts him.

Much more detail and video highlights here

If Ivo is as good as you say he is, won't somebody draft him before FCD does? :(

If they want the guy, they'll find a way to get him.

Wow SMU hosts Akron/Northwestern on Sunday at Westcott.

Extremely tough draw to get a game against the NCAA champions but this will be a can't miss night.

I'm just pumped for the potential to have this game take place in our backyard provided Akron can get past NW.

Check out the Akron sophomore Darren Mattox. This is the Jamaican U-23 I have been raving about to anyone that will listen. This striker would be a perfect fit for FCD. I am interested enough to make the drive to see Ivo vs. Mattox. I know strikers can be streaky, but I hope all of you get the chance to see what I think is an obvious future MLS talent.

It's far from a slam dunk that Akron gets past Big 10 champs Northwestern. Game is Thursday night.

No TIVO to worry about the [R], so it will come to be SMU vs Akron. Ivo vs Mattocks. Anyone watch the Mattocks roof the GK'er?

SMU trying to rally some support for the game. No Brad Davis = 1-sided game. Come support the Mustangs!

Said the Arsenal fan on the FCD board....

C'mon Mustangs, do the U23 Olympic team a favor and release their coach.

The year that set the club back a decade. Wonder how different things would have been if we never left the Cotton Bowl that year before moving to PHP.

I agree and don't forget the failed experiment of swapping Suarez and T-Bone.

Anyway back on topic, if you remember one of the issues that people had against the Bus Driver was failing to win the big one in the NCAA despite having very talented rosters.

Dumb statement considering they won it for the first time in 5 years this season.

So ridiculous to belittle accomplishments of student athletes because they haven't won a national championship.

    It's about supporting your city.

7PM at Westcott tonight. Be there.

Yeah I am really bashing student athletes here. Maybe like your fellow Sooners, you have a short term memory issue. One of the biggest complaints with SH was SMU never won anything apart from a conference title despite being in a hot bed of talent.

Support my city? If this was DBU, UNT, UTA, or TCU, would you even be saying anything?

Why does that matter on whether you should go see the game tonight or be proud of their achievements this season?

None of those have men's college soccer programs. I have no affiliation with SMU, never took a class there or anything like that.

Anyways, the game is at 7. Should be good, hope to see some of you out there.
