I am as big an MISL fan as anyone, and one who doesn't understand why the PASL exists sometimes.

HOWEVER, this would not be the game to compare the PASL to the MISL. With all of the reasons I don't like the PASL (different goal sizes, different field sizes, play in practice facilities), Norfolk wouldn't even meet those standards. At least the markings on the PASL fields are consistent.

I would have rather seen Chicago in that crappy little building than what we saw last night in Norfolk. Horrible and an embarrassment to the sport.

Is there not a quality control person in the USL? This new partnership could have at least brought a "This is where you should go to buy carpet" person.

    Holy crap that was bad.

and the announcers need to be terminated immediately. They had to have been some idiot owners friend who said "I can do that" the same way the people who try out for American Idol say "I can sing better than that guy"

    Horrible.

Sad thing is that they play in one of the nicest looking arenas (from the outside) in the MISL...

this floor was bad I think they got it in a dumpser , you can get a used carpet for that floor for under 10K , money they realy do need to invest ... then go get some former misl players that team is never going to win a game playing like that

I said it when Mass was in the league, and Ill say it again....I could call 12 guys right now who havent played in years, and beat Norfolk.

You need a style of play, defensivley and offensively. They dont have one.

They will play 'bar league' style games, and rely on little momentum spurts to keep games close early, then the lack of possession and fitness will lead to teams pulling away late.

I think enough has been said about the announcing. If I invested in this team, Im sure I wouldve heard how bad they were by now, and changes have to be made.
I even heard the guy say the lower score first when he said the score.
    Its now 5 to 7!!!!
    Who does that?
Minor compared to the rest of the junk, but still bad.

I watched this last night on my phone. The turf looked terrible. The fact that they had announcers who didn't do any game prep is troubling. Not to mention cussing on the air. There is no excuse for that.

As far as the team goes, they have 3 good players. Brooks, Cecil and Leiberman. But their coach doesn't have a clue. He pulled the keeper and the Sharx players had no posession so the score got out of hand in the 4th quarter.

Someone from the league office needs to get in their and fix that stuff asap.

The coaches comments was we were missing some of our better players. We will see. That game in MKE could be a blood bath next weekend.

I would be surprised if the USL gave Norfolk any information about how to run the team or set-up their business operation. Having been around USL-2, USL Pro and W-League teams the USL model usually involves cashing the membership check, making a schedule and then disappearing until the next check is due. There have always been questions surrounding the USL and the lack of value team's get for their franchise fees. It's that type of management that helps keep rival outdoor leagues in business. Norfolk should look to their league-mates as well as more elite PASL members for guidance on and off the field. Better performing peers can often provide insight into business operations that an over-arching management can't.

As always... $125,000 for your chance to own a thriving MISL Franchise.

Yeah sure Economides, Holt and the rest of the pay me now get nothing in return as%**U^%$

well, they do get to attend all the MISL games they want and say how great it is to draw 20,000 fans to 8 games. Fans flocked!

sorry, but Syracuse had 8 months to sell the first game.. and they get 3,000 plus? wow.. hope they are paying installments for their "franchise fee"

only a true idiot would write them a check

3K, although not great, isn't bad either. And I would bet at 3-0 they will have a nice crowd next game also.

Great photo of horrendous turf. If they'd just replaced the end zones it wouldn't have been as bad.

Can't make out what the endzone says. It looks like THAW(?). What team was that?

If I remember right, the team was the Norfolk Nighthawks of AF2.
