I would bet that they feel more American and would not sell out because because someone in their family is a immigrant. Make a decision, you benefit from everything that this country offers you but you can't even love our country and show support our the nats. You need to wonder about a person that comes here for a job but will not love their new country ( or the national team to boot ). Maybe is more green shirts spilled blood for their country (USA) perhaps they would appreciate the red white and blue.

Hmm. I'll probably let Carlos handle this one, but I would definately disagree that many Mexican immigrants, legal or illegal, benefit from everything this country has to offer.

Eek. That's bit extreme, non? I mean, most white, asian, and african-americans don't even support the Nats. I mean, if it came down to Ireland vs. USA, I'd have to support the U.S., but not with much glee.

I have to back up and take the very American point of view that THIS IS JUST SOCCER PEOPLE.

Dearest Poopforbrains: two words for you. Wow. WOW!!
Suffice to say that you're ignorant when it comes to analysis of the extraordinarily complex issues revolving around identity politics.
Tell me, how does one develop "affinity" or even a total respect for a country that has invaded your motherland dozens of times (Nicaragua, Haiti, or in my case the Dominican Republic, or any one of another 1/2 dozen Latin American countries) and supported dictatorships that led to the economic or political necessity to seek a better life in another country? In the case of Mexican Americans, like we would SUPPOSE that you have studied in school, the Southwestern US used to be a part of Mexico. When it was turned over to the US, Mexicans were promised cultural, linguistic and religious freedom, all of which have been systematically attacked over the last 150 years. How can one respect 100% a country that lies?
First of all, I can't even understand what the f' you're saying. Maybe it's better that way. But if it's what I think it is, f' off. Here, your utter ig'nancy prevents you from getting red-carded. FYI: the US military used to put blacks and Latinos at the front lines in WWII and Korea b/c they assumed that blacks and latinos wouldn't protest and that nobody would care.

Hey, guys, if you want to have a political debate, please feel free to move it to the Politics Forum. I'd rather not have to moderate than actually get involved.

    Thanks.
