Any know what is going on with Andy? Noticed he has not even been making the bench. Is he injured? Can't seem to find any news on him

I know that before the Xmas break the fans and the media were not happy with his play. Andy was a regular first team player but was not performing well at all.

He's generally employed out of position, hence his lack of success. I haven't seen much of him at Palace, but I do believe he's mostly played on the wing.

    News on a different Dorman.

Doesn't seem to get all the details right, but...

Apropos of nothing in particular: Palace off to a pretty good start in the Championship, but Andy not getting many minutes, and often isn't on the subs bench.

Admittedly odd question, but if Andy did want to come back, would he be free to negotiate with any team, or since we didn't get a transfer fee for him, would we have first dibs on him? Obviously not being a US International we wouldn't ahve to worry about him being snapped up by a Canadian team like Michael Parkhurst would be, if he comes back.

Anyone know the rules on this?

Would he be considered part of the re-entry process? If so check this link for a bunch of details on the re-entry process and then go all the way to the bottom to see section IV Right of First Refusal.

This is very convoluted, but based on the way I read it, and based on the rumors that SN tried to resign Andy by MLS refused the deal, then the Revs still hold Andy's MLS rights.

Dorman would not be subject to the re-entry draft. I believe our holding of his rights would have already expired, but if we did hold them, and Dorman was to re-sign with MLS, the Revs would have the first option of acquiring him. If another team was interested, they would have to negotiate with the Revs for those rights, or the Revs would simply have to decline interest and allow Dorman to sign elsewhere with nothing to their benefit.

I'd love to have him back, but didn't he leave on bad terms with the club? Simmilar to Parkhurst's situation? I thought it was classic "patriot way/ value system" (aka we aren't going to pay you what you want, because you aren't worth it) thinking that made him leave.

He was making like $30,000 a year in his fourth season. I don't know if he was still living with a host family at that point, but usually it's just the young'uns who do that before they can afford to get their own place.

He, like Larentowicz, declined a raise, because it would have added more years to his contract. Had he taken a raise to, say $100,000 and two more years, he would have only been able to move on to Partick or St, Mirren or whoever it was if the Revs had agreed to sell him. As Twellman and Joseph know all too well, that is hardly a given.

And as we fans know all too well, if they had sold him or any other player for a hefty fee, the chances of them spending the money to get another comparable player (or even a guy good enough to be a run-of-the-mill MLS first-teamer) are hardly good either.

Before I retire my pseudonym, I'd just like to say that ToM is often the voice of reason and speaks from years of press credentialed personal contact with the team. And as usual, he's right on the money here:

The real problem is that the Revs purseholders whoever they be have historically forced the Revs players with the most potential to refuse to re-sign for cheap and get locked into additional years, except for Shalrie who probably regrets it and is hoping its not too late. These are the moves and philosophy that drove this team to the basement. Yeay Dempsey.

As for coaching I'm actually going to miss Nicol though I didn't agree with many of his decisions but, bring on the next stiff and let's give him better resources. Ciao.

Turns out Andy didn't know that Bristol was a League 2 club, he thought he was going to League 1!

He must have been so excited to go to the **CHAMPIONSHIP** and by use of logic and common sense, think that he was going to be contending for the English football championship (obviously must be a high honor)

More importantly, how much can he possibly be making if a league 2 side agreed to pay his salary? Sounds like Revs money to me.
