"Let" her post here? Are you implying that the people in this forum should disallow canyonvue from posting here? Your pimple-faced group-think doesn't apply in this forum. And anyways it kind of stinks of low-self-esteem insecure boys who are scared of a woman "invading" their domain. That kind of attitude doesn't fit into the egalitarian ethic of soccer, especially in the US. Go hang out with some NFL buddies if you feel the need to commiserate about those uppity "bitches".

It's not a huge deal to me, but I would really get a kick out of them winning and thus entering the "Eastern Conference" bracket, and eventually defeating KC after that. Then we'd get to enjoy Colorado playing for the "Eastern Conference Championship" (damn, writing "Championship" in that context makes me gag) and hopefully New York playing against Seattle for the "Western Conference Championship". Would add a little more hilarity if the "Eastern Conference Championship" game was Houston v Colorado. :) As usual, MLS always has to make things more complicated than they have to be and insult the fans' and players' intelligence in the process. "Semifinals" isn't good enough. No. They have to be "Conference Championships".

Your ratings aren't exactly top notch either, fella.

I have never, ever thought of canyonvue as a woman. Just a pimply-faced androgyny. But sexualizing that level of retardedness (the one that fancied Rosales deserved re-injury for "Karma") makes it even more grotesque.

I think Seattle fans and RSL fans harbor no mutual enmity here... The fact is-- things would flow smoother without either of you two trolls..

But I'll let you post anyway.

I sure hope we are not lining up the victim card here. RSL has a quality team. If they beat us, so be it. I believe, and I hope the Sounders players do as well, that we have the quality and confidence to win without our #10. I'll go along with Ajas on this. Slow the game down. Try to suck the energy out of the game and bring this back to Seattle with the score tied.

If I had to choose, I would probably prefer to have Rosales play for us during the home leg rather than down in Salt Lake. Teams open up against us when we play on the road, and a lot of Rosales job is to open up defenses. It's at home, where RSL is going to bunker down, when we need him more.

Without Rosales this Saturday, I'm predicting a scrappy game where we may not maintain possession but still figure out how to at least tie or even win because of defensive mistakes on RSL's part.

    georg,

lol, there's no need to defend yourself. I and most others know exactly what you're talking about regarding canyonvue. bright clearly wanted to flaunt how secure he is with the ladies. In another post he was talking about how he works out at Curves 37 times a week :D

Nah, just drink heavily and let the warmth radiate from the inside! Hope to see some of you at the tailgate before the match (north of the stadium on 90th south).

Ever since the 09 cup I've always had a soft spot for the sounders fans as they received our team well for the cup and helped us cheer against the beloved Gals of LA! It will kind of make beating your asses in the series that much less rewarding (tongue in cheek!). In all seriousness, good luck to the sounders and travel safe.

Hah. Yoga class is where it's at. ;) Okay, I guess I conflated UPinSLC's use of "bitch" with what the other posters were saying, which even without the use of the word "bitch" is still annoying. You should criticize someone for what they do (in this case, supposedly post something you don't like) instead of who they are (in this case, supposedly a woman). And UPinSLC has a bad track record of being an asshole from the Portland stadium threads, so I guess I conflated the other RSL posters attitudes with his. Anyways, if it's true that this other poster is bad, then we'll figure it out. In general, it rubs me the wrong way to be directly told how to feel about someone when it seems like the teller just wants to collect a posse for his personal gripe and isn't actually looking out for my best interest. I also hate lies in advertising and political spin-doctoring. Make sense?

It would make more sense if we were talking about the Sounders vs. RSL game instead of who's a bitch and who isn't in this "Sounders vs. RSL semifinals game" forum but that's just my opinion.... wait I'm not being a bitch am I? don't tell me.

Excellent point. Back to the game guys. :)

It will be interesting to see which RSL team shows up on Saturday. I think we have a pretty good chance to at least come out with a draw, but it certainly won't be an easy task. RSL finished third in the league for a reason and I suspect the late season swoon had much to do with Beckerman being gone. He's back now, so if he's back in the swing of things, they shouldn't be the struggling team we saw in the last 6 games of the season. It'll be interesting to see how the Morales/Beckerman pairing works out. They haven't played together since Morales's ankle was broken.

Of course, with no Rosales, the question is which Sounders team will show up. Fernandez and Montero will still be in the game, so that is definitely a good thing, but, as noted many times before, we aren't as good a team if Rosales isn't on the field.

Look at it this way, this thread will be erased from everyones memory and replaced with the 2nd leg's thread in just 2 days. So now's your chance to fulfill your hearts desire to discuss kittens rights, the pros and cons of crocs shoes, or why men can't wear perfume. Set it free, elmero. Set it free.

Nevermind. Yoshou ruined something great. Ok, yes, back to the game.

This is true. I suspect that with both Morales and Beckerman on the field we'll see an RSL style of play that's been missing for quite a while. However, I'm sure Seattle will step it up as well. I can't wait for this one. I expect a very entertaining series.

Morales? It looks like it's contagious. ;)

*gasp* What are you talking about? My comment clearly says Rosales. I am appalled that you would edit my comment in such a manner.

Very nervous about playing this game without Rosales. I hope the training this week has been vigorous, focused, and furious. This series is just too important. We can't afford another first-round exit. It's time to show our quality as a club and getting past this first round is so freaking important to doing that. As far as I'm concerned this season is a failure if we yet again can't get past the first round. Yes that's including the USOC win.

I see this one as a classic midfield battle. Both teams have solid defenses and forwards that, if given the space, will punish the opponent. The key, then, is who wins the midfield battle for possession.

Two somewhat different styles will go at each other (you guys value wing play, we have the diamond midfield that crams things more) but both sides will look to maintain possession.

These are the kind of games in which a non-star has to step up big to make a difference as the rest of the players cancel out. Neagle v Williams (your left, our right) is where I see this match being decided. Should be a fun one to watch, regardless.

Have you seen our defense? Heh. There's a reason why Keller has 6 saves of the week, not to mention the few he was nominated for and didn't win. Keller has faced the 4th most shots and has made the 3rd most saves in the league. Keller has saved our defense's bacon this season and if we had a lesser gk between the posts, we'd have a much higher GAA and worse record.

All the more reason to keep it in the midfield Yoshou. I would say that our midfield probably has a little more skill in terms of holding and moving the ball than RSL but RSL's back line is probably a little more solid. So I generally agree with 15 to 32; if you're watching this from a midfield perspective you probably won't have to strain your neck exceedingly.

But in reality it all depends on how RSL plays. Open and flowing vs. bunkerball vs. "oh **** the balls at my feet, what now?"

Well that's just silly. Missing our best player, in a crapshoot playoff system against the team with the next best record to ours, and if we lose the whole season is a failure?

Don't buy it. This season has been a success REGARDLESS of what happens in the playoffs. It will be extremely successful, and very special if we advance. But if not, I'll be disappointed, but certainly won't feel like we had a failed season, just a failed tournament.

My response was more to his comment that we have a solid defense. We have a shaky defense that is backed up by one of the best GKs in the league. RSL's defense is more solid than ours and they are backed up by one of the best GKs in the league. I'd give RSL's defense the nod on which is better and give Keller the nod for better GK.

Keller typically is a fantastic keeper
but in games against RSL, well...

regardless, I feel you are selling your defense short a bit.

The RSL defense, supposedly one of the best in the league, has looked anything but in recent games

Bunkerball and not knowing what to do with the ball is not RSL's style.
