It's a referee crew from Suriname and Aruba. I wouldn't expect much.

Did he run out of the box with the ball?

That occurred to me as well as I was writing it.

But even with that unimpressive tally, they're still an improvement over the too young and ineffective Ruben Luna and the hugely ineffective (and cup-tied) Maicon Santos.

Yup. I don't think FCD had an answer for that Frings, Koevermans, De Guzman combo to be honest.

Congrats to TFC. Finally have something to cheer about for that fanbase. Winter has really been impressive at turning that franchise around. I'll even give props to MLSE for going outside of the box and having Klinnsman vet the applicants.

It will be exciting to see if they can fill up the Rogers Centre for a game against one of the Mexican sides.

Holy crap! I just got in and saw the TFC score. I'm a Whitecaps fan but congrats on them. Hope they can make Canada proud.

I'm so sad at learning that Seattle will retire their mello-yellow uniforms =( It's been such a an unmistakable identifier for the CCL and other non MLS tournaments. Seeing Seattle play tonight makes me hope they win, just so the yellow uniform can go out in a blaze of glory.

hopefully when you get your turn in the CCL, you won't have to play in the prelim round. the Canada Spot needs to be direct to the group stage and I hope we can help the cause of that.

Montero with a pretty free kick. Awful job by the Monterrey wall.

Delicious free kick from Montero. 1-1. Here's hoping they can pull out the win just to stick it to Monterrey. Sorry Thoma. :)

Here's hoping Seattle uses the momentum to get a few more in the second half. I know they're already in the knockout round, but when you have a chance to put it to the champs and potentially keep them out of the next round, you gotta take it.

I don't mind their marching band. I'm just glad they don't interrupt the chanting anymore.

I'm glad the CONCACAF feed is faster than FSC, and the commentating isn't bad.

I had to turn the game off at 1-0, what the **** happened to Dallas? Those damn CONCACAF Coefficient threads are going to be effed up.

Yeah, after this result I can't see why that wouldn't be change. I seem to remember that Canada's coefficient was already the 2nd best in CONCACAF. This will only help.
