Brek has been called back to the USMNT by Klinsmann, matches are Oct. 8 and Oct. 11. And once again, Ream over John.

I didn't think Brek was good enough yet to already be attracting the interest of the Big Clubs. Looks inevitable he's going to Europe this WInter.

I hope there is huge bidding war for his services.

Yeah, but on the replay you could see that, from his position, he had no chance. He was just half a step too far in front of it when it got to him. Bad luck. But we got the win, so it'll soon be forgotten. :)

I was going to shop Klinsmann's face onto Sgt. Schultz's body and replace "I KNOW NUTH-THEENK" with "I FORGET NUTH-THEENK," but man, I just can't have a giant Nazi on my monitor at work.

    Thanks a lot, Hitler.

Yeah, even with the extra degree of separation that Hogan's Heroes placed between 'the common soldier' and The SS, it still may be too much of a risk to display a Hitler-era uniform on a monitor for long.

Hell, I don't even know how well it would go over here. Maybe if you just wrote a bit about it instead of...

    Oh wait ;)

I wait to see if rumors of American transfers reach the BBC transfer gossip page before I believe it. The Brek stories are true. Looks like Fergie wants to win the Shea race and is willing to pay big money and loan him to FCD to do it. I'm excited for the lad.

Does this part ever actually happen? I remember some were talking about it when Aaron Ramsey went from Cardiff to Arsenal, but I don't think it was ever really on the table. I think the big clubs take the youngsters in, get them acclimated to the club style, then loan them somewhere closer to (new) home. Loan-backs I think are a sop to angry fans, and maybe happen later, once a player has lost favor with the new club.

For the purchasing club, it just doesn't make much sense to be THAT hands off with a new purchase anyway. If Shea couldn't reproduce his FCD form with Scunthorpe, how could he be expected to reproduce it with Man U?

I tend to follow my own teams more than the entire scene, so I could be (and would like to be) proven wrong. Any examples? I can't really think of a good way to Google the phenomenon itself

Not to mention SAF would be crazy to loan Shea back to MLS. That's like taking your new 10m GBP Ferrari on a rally course...with the physical style of play and horrible officiating, Shea and whomever does buy him would be better off loaning him to a league that provides an environment to develop offensive skills.

I only repeated what I read. I have no proof of the validity of the report.

While I quoted your post for reference, the question was more for the peanut gallery. I wasn't demanding an answer from you. :)

It's a good site, Seltzer is the gold standard when it comes to Yanks Abroad reporting. I only see a few clubs on that list that can afford Shea, or at least for Dallas to make a tough decision before a year or two from now.

I can't see it happening. A decent player, but not Manchester United quality. Not to mention the fact that he would be low on the pecking order at his position. He'd be better off at a mid-table club.

If you're referring to three lions being a d-bag and glory hunter, I'm afraid you're wrong. As far as Manure not being the best team in Manchester, well that's absolutely correct :D.
