Well, everybody got their worst nightmare... :D BURN, BABY, BURN!

Let's not blame Burnett for being in this do-or-die position. It's because CC didn't do the job. Period. And then he's probably gonna opt out of his contract -- he has 4 years, $92 million left -- in an attempt to get the Yanks to shell out for a couple of more years at about $23 million per.

Of course, it would also help if certain bats came to life against this nobody we're facing tonight. A-Rod .000; Tex .091; Swisher .182; Martin .111... Wake the eff up, guys!

This will be interesting. I think the Yankees bats get going again tonight. I just hope AJ gives us enough to where Joe doesn't have to tire out the entire bullpen.

Rays sort of went out with a whimper there after the dramatic climax to the season and the Game 1 blow out.

So far so good for AJ. In the 6th now, however, and this is where AJ normally starts losing his grip.

Yankees bats look ok. Tex needs to find a way to pretend it's April.

I admit I'm surprised Girardi pulled AJ there. Good outing by Burnett.

As much as A.J. came through for the Yanks last night, so did Curtis Granderson and his big glove, including a great bases-loaded catch to bail Burnett out in the 1st inning. 3 1/3 hitless relief from Soriano, Hughes and Logan. A-Rod finally came to life with 2 singles during the Yankee 6-run 8th inning. Jesus Montero got a pinch-hit single in his first playoff appearance in the 8th, with an RBI and run scored. He added another single in the 9th.

    Let's bury them tomorrow!

Girardi says CC available out of the pen for Game 5. Leyland says Verlander definately is not. Girardi says even A.J. could be used.

    Right on, Joe!

I thought Nova settled down in the second and deserved to stay in the game but oh well. So far Hughes looks good.

    This ump is shit.

    a) Girardi is over managing right now?
    b) Girardi is panicking?
    c) With a day rest and a day rest to come its the right thing to do?

If the Yankees can't drive some runs in on Fister then they don't belong in the playoffs.

Jeter one pitch out, Granderson two pitch out, to start the bottom of the 5th.

If tonight was Posada's last game as a Yankee, it was a pleasure to watch him.

Doug Fister gets traded from Seattle, Seattle fans laugh like they just sold the Brooklyn Bridge, and Fister goes out and becomes ********* Cy Young.

I hate them right now. I really do.

    LOSERS: Rodriguez .111; Teixeira .167; Martin .176; Swisher .211; Jeter .250; Granderson .250.

    WINNERS: Posada .429; Gardner .412; Cano .318.
Honorable mention: Montero 1.000 (He had 2 hits... 1 less than Tex and the same as A-Rod -- both of whom got 15 at-bats each).
