Well, I miss Rosales. He's our key to chopping those long balls down to size so hopefully he's here tuesday with machete in hand.

Anyone think Montero's gonna get the golden boot?

Same. You can see the difference in Montero's attitude from earlier in the season. His work rate is just a complete turnaround. He does have to score a minimum of 3 goals in 2 games now, as he was suspended. I think he'll manage it. And his mocking of Fagundez was hilarious so if that's included in the GOTW clips he should win.

It certainly looked that way. My take homes

our B- squad can compete with the lower 1/3 of the MLS table
Estrada was a pleasant surprise at RM
Levesque as an emergency right back isn't as scary as I thought
Jaqua. what can you say? I wish we could have seen Ochoa, but Sigi subbed off all the outfield guys that might start on Tuesday (except Wahl perhaps?)

If I had the time I'd put together Jaqua's 2 misses in a nice little video, send it to Sigi, and title it, "Sammy Ochoa, your 2012 no.9"

It's getting to the point know where I'm having serious doubts about Jacqua latching on anywhere in MLS next season.

Poor Jaqua... gets himself in so many good positions, which is respectable, but never finishes. He did a good job holding defenders off a few times though.

And the MLS championship game should really be between us and LA. It's a shame.

Or could it be, " Sammy Ochoa, Sigi's 2011 USOC no.9"

What are you? His agent? I just hope he has been saving his money from the last few seasons...

I think the reason Sigi played him for a long time is because he thinks FM17 still has a chance in the golden boot.

And yet his another chance for a hat trick was prevented by another SOTY candidate.

Nothing. He was put out to give the Sounders 45 minutes to "win" the game. He was taken out to keep him fresh for the USOC final.

Sigi is a god damn genius. If anyone doubts that he shouldn’t be in the running for coach of the year he can just tell them “I qualified for the next round of CCL on the road and flew to New England and won a game with Roger freaking Levesque playing right back. Suck it losers.”

He's been great. And while I know you mean "genius" as a euphemism, there is more to coaching than just tactical smarts and picking lineups. When sports involves real people, it is more than just a video game. It also is about personalities and managing them, inspiring your players -- from the starters to the bench warmers -- and ensuring they believe in themselves and each other every game, and maintaining a cohesive team ethic where everyone is humble enough to put each other and team first. This is harder to assess from our perspectives as mere fans, but based on how the team is playing and handling themselves, I think the entire coaching staff fits in really well with this group of guys and is doing a great job.

Sigi is a good coach for sure but the club got very lucky in signing Rosales. I think he has alot to do with the club coming together especially Montero developing a work rate. Without #10 different season.
