What a bunch of diving, complaining whiners. And they continue to luck their way into wins.
That being said, when will the negative balls stop? Borchers should not be the player with the most touches (nor should Rimando).

It's always interesting to stumble upon one of my photos in an article. They've conveniently cropped out my signature and of course never asked for permission.

At the very least you should send an email to the USC Annenburg School for Communication and Journalism and tell them that someone took and used your picture without permission.

I agree, they would probably treat your concerns pretty seriously.

I cant wait for Beckham to go back to England. The guy reminds me of junkberg so much. He thinks that he is above it all, better than everyone, and deserves Kobe Bryant type protection. In reality, he's a decent midfielder in this league, built into a team that makes sure to cover his ass, and shines his golden balls a lot.

Go to Spurs - get lit up by an Arsenal tackle.
    Nobody cares about Beckham anymore.

Rough game for RSL. I cant say that I saw a championship team on either side of the ball last night but I will take RSL every day of the week over the marshmallow soft team that us the Galaxy.

LA is very good but unless the continue to get a call every time they fall down the cup could remain just out of their reach. Now if "I've fallen and I can't get up" First Alert is an MLS Cup sponsor I could get worried.

RSL definitely needs improvement if success is to be found in the playoffs. I feel bad for any fan that has written this season off as a loss. I get the frustration but this season, to date and what could be, should be measured for what it is and not what could have been.

JK should be a unanimous coach of the year vote. Where they are in the table and what they have been through to even be in playoffs is quite simply amazing. Yes, they have come apart a little at the seams but most teams that went through a season like the one RSL just suffered through would never have found seams to let come apart.

This team is a team full of warriors. Not a term I throw out haphazardly. War/Sport analogies I find a little distasteful but this case they have battled nearly a full season with one challenge or injury after another and will still be in the playoffs with a chance to win the cup.

What could have been could have been glorious. Hell, I could have been 6'9 and gravity defying instead of 5'9 and gravity compelled, but that's another church ball story for another day.

This RSL team has earned the undying support of their fans for this season for what they have accomplished. What could have been is for church ball superstars.

Those 2 goals were among the worse all-time freebees RSL has given anyone, including the dark years (2005-2007).

RSL let LA win. Oy vey!

what has Kreis done to beat Arena, Vermes, and especially Sigi to win COTY? Yeah, great work to be in the position we are in, but those guys have done much better than he has when you take all things into consideration.

I'm not (and I'm sure others on here that are frustrated as well) throwing this season away. What I am doing is realizing how much of a failure it has been compared to what it was hyped to be. This game felt like the way the season has gone, again. We start great, look to be a good side, but then fail to do the little things and hurt ourselves in some really damaging ways in vital times.

Hey this is off topic, but really quick: My photo of Kreis was removed and replaced on that article after I sent an email to the editor last night. The editor at USC has admitted to cropping out my signature and has apologized sincerely. It was a photo that I uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and I intended it for free use, but I had not anticipated my sig being cropped out.

I realize my sig isn't typical, but that is how people recognize my work. So, anyway--they are some fine folks over there at USC Annenburg School for Communication and Journalism and have been open and honest and are okay in my book. I'll be providing photos for them in the future.

Okay, back to the dreadful loss!

good to hear, in that field its very important to stay on those types of things. my dad is big into photog (has won several contests and such), its hard to get recognition with soooo much media available and when someone actually does use your work and cuts your name off...i know how frustrating that can be. good to hear that USC owned up to it and seems willing to use your stuff in the future.

OK, a follow-up question: Is the editor truly sorry for committing copyright violation, or is he truly sorry he got caught? My guess is, if he were sorry for the right reasons, he would have taken the photo down before you called him on it.

I guess I don't trust plagiarizers who only repent upon being outed. I'd keep him on a short leash in future, especially given the quality of your work (I don't worry about plagiarism of my stuff because it is, for the most part, crap).

I agree with you, IBIK, that it was sinister for the editor to do that. Here is a snippet of a direct quote from the email he sent me:

    ...

    Mr. Boz,

Jonathan Kendrick forwarded me your email. I am the sports editor for Neon Tommy.

First, allow me to apologize for cropping out your signature from the photo. That was obviously wrong and I am sorry for doing so.

I found your photo on Wikimedia Commons, which allowed the use of the photo for non-commercial uses with proper attribution. You may notice that there are no ads on our site, we are funded by USC and non-profit. We use photos from Wikimedia Commons solely to illustrate the people and information being discussed.

    ...

The bolded is where he failed the second time, the first obviously being the cropping of my sig. He did claim to give me credit with the "hover" caption (when you place the cursor over the image) and he also claims a limitation in the software they use to place a caption under anything but the first photo in the story... I didn't see the photo credit myself, and being that he wronged me on the sig crop, I can't say that I believe him.

I decided to take the high road and accept his apology. I will, however, keep a close eye on the photos they are using from now on. If it happens again, I'll take the appropriate measures. As for now, I'll play Mr. Nice guy.

And your work is far from crap, dude! I always read your articles and they are exceptional!

Here's a link to the cached version that has your picture on it. Hovering over the first picture brings up a caption pop up. None of the others do. In the caption popup of the first picture nothing is mentioned about any photographer, just a note that it is Chad Barrett.

Great work? The only reason RSL is even in the place they are is because of the job JK has done. Vermes, REALLY? SuKC is 6 points down and a game played up on RSL.

Bruce Arena? Who wouldn't be in first place coaching that team with that talent? He could be diaper changer of the year for all the crying that team does. Coach of the year, depends.

Sigi, maybe but for all the talent there shouldn't they be in the SS race still?

What do you mean "when you take all things into consideration?" What other team faced the challenges that have come RSL's way this year? Seattle lost Zakuani but he was by no means as valuable to them as Javi is to RSL.

This is complete and utter bullshit and I for one am tired of hearing what the *******might have been. Get the ******over it. Quit your ***** realizing and maybe take another look at what kind of season this really is.

You know what might have been, RSL with all of its troubles collapses like a cheap tent and ends up down at the bottom looking up at the playoffs with Chivas, New England and the rest of the bottom feeders.

Instead this team has fought through one disaster after another to be in 3rd **********place in all of MLS. RSL has 51 Mother********* points and you are worried about what might have been. Its the second best total in club history and you aren't satisfied. What the ********hell is wrong with you?

How long are you going to continue to belittle the effort this team has put forth game after game this season. You can only battle so long without it catching up with you and if you can't appreciate what this team has gone through and how they have maintained any semblance of cohesion then you can just bug off.

I guess the opposite is also true. RSL could be undefeated and untied and unscored upon. That's a possibility too.

What might have been, if only, woulda, coulda, shoulda, oh the glory that was ours if RSL had just lived up to the hype.

This season is what it is and I for one don't give a rats fanny about the spilled milk left behind. This is one hell of a team with one hell of a coach that will probably go on to make a nice run in the playoffs and maybe to the cup and I will enjoy every last minute win or lose.

What the **********might have been is for Jazz fans.

Vermes took a team that couldn't win in the first part of the season and has them flying high at the end. Give credit where it's due. They've been good when it counts lately.

That team wins games that are tight, draws when the other team should win, and is very well disciplined. Call them whinners all you want, they don't have the ejection and suspension issues our team has.
oh, and New York supposedly has a team even a blind man could manage to victory, right?

Well, in all reality, they are still in the SS race. They are top of their CCL group - a damn good one, I might add - and are likely to win their 3rd straight USOC tonight. How one can say Sigi hasn't done an incredible job, especially after losing Steve (don't slight him, that kid is WAY good) is beyond me. This award is all Sigi's, even I'll sign on to that.

Seattle relies on wing play, RSL on central midfield play. It could easily be argued it is similar. Know what Seattle did, though, that RSL didnt? Tried to fix the problem by finding some talent - Rosales.

What this season really is? A season in which we'll have yet again 0 trophies to show for it if we don't somehow win the MLS Cup... awesome.

first, our club "history" is both short and pathetic. Saying it's second best is like saying this is BYU's best year of independence.
second, I'm sorry for having higher expectations. We've faltered in each of the big tests this year. CCL - lost. USOC - lost. SS - lost. MLS Cup - TBD. I'm sick of having a team that plays well, is really good, but has no idea how to win when they absolutely have to. That's been 2011 for RSL.

What this team has gone through is not unique in this sport. it is unique, however, to this team. It's been a learning experience for Kreis and co. You can't have so much stock put into one player on this team. We've seen what we look like without Javi, its scary.
Instead of buying used MLS goods, RSL needs to continue to look abroad and test new waters. Seattle, LA, Dallas, etc. are all doing it while we just sit here and take their leftovers. its irritating as hell.

Its funny you bring up the Jazz because this team is starting to resemble them very much. Good team, win a lot of games, finish high in the standings, but don't know how to win the big one(s)

Make sure to tune your TV's to ESPN2 and FSC tonight to watch Seattle and LA win 2 of the 4 trophies (with 1 already gone to Monterrey) RSL set out to get this season.
Didn't we have a thread at the beginning of the season asking what your hopes were for the season trophy wise and what your expectations were?

Well, looks like we'll have to wait a week and a half to watch LA win the SS. Which actually is a good thing. Let Seattle think they are still in it and use their first stringers longer than they probably would if LA won tonight.

If Seattle loses tonight, though, getting back to the CCL gets suddenly much more difficult
