Baltimore has beaten the Red Sox, 4-3! Boston led 3-2 with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth -- and they blew it!!
Red Sox up 1-0 Orioles up 2-1 Red Sox get a balk to tie it up 2-2 Meanwhile, Texeira hits the grandslam to put up the Yankees 5-0 Pedroia then puts the Sox up 3-2. Where they would stay. Several Red Sox were thrown out at the plate trying to score. Rays are now down 7-0 SEVEN TO ZERO! Then it starts raining Meanwhile, in a side show, the Phillies just happen to tie the game. Most of the Rays fans leave the stadium. The game is over. 7-1 7-2 7-3 Really? Nah Evan Longoria 7-6 No way Just a tease Damon pops out with a man on second. Just a tease Dan Johnson WHO?!?! It's over 2 outs 2 strikes It's over Johnson homers WHAT? Johnson homers The Yankees don't have any more pitchers. They have to leave Proctor in. SIDE SHOW ALERT THe Phillies win in 13. First collapse of the day. Foreshadowing. Yankees get runners on first and third no outs. You have to score that. Bad baserunning gets picked of third. The Yankees don't capitalize. 9th inning double play with bases loaded to end the inning for the Sox Probably going to have a playoff. Sox up 3-2, two outs. Wait what's that, a double. NO Another double!? Reimold ties it! And you know what happens next. Andino hits it an inch in front of Crawford, and minutes later. Evan Longoria fouls it............ over the fence! AMAZING
Oh wow. Fan fecking tastic!!!!! What an epic collapse. Suck on that bean town. You know taxes are high, the girlfriend's bitching is annoying, you don't have enough money, you don't have a nice car but sometimes....... just sometimes life says, hey pal here ya go, enjoy. This right here is one of those moments.
Most unbelievable night in baseball I ever seen, as a Rays fan I tought it was all but over. Sawx with the biggest meltdown in history. Thanks O's
Glad to see the bosox fall on their face in such a kick-in-the-nuts fashion, but I have to admit it is all a bit worrisome to me, and was last night when I was watching it. The redsox, had they managed to squeak into the playoffs, would have been the easiest and probably quickest out in the LDS. I can't recall any teams in any sport that narrowly avoid a huge choke job and then all of a sudden got on a roll and won something. Boston had no pitching by the end of the season, no leaders, and no belief. They were done, it was just a matter of when. The Rays, on the other hand, are the team that came back from 9.5 down in a month and did it in miracle/spectacular fashion. They, and every one of their 20,000 fans, will believe they are a team of destiny. They have just enough pitching, they have arguably the best player in baseball right now, and they have a very very good manager. If they carry this into the Texas series and stay hot, they could be a very tough out in the ALCS for the Yankees. Boston? That was never going to be the case with those losers. In any event, it's the playoffs, so LET'S GO YANKEES!!!
Joe Girardi has announced that Freddy Garcia will start Game 3 of the ALDS. I approve of this choice. He's earned it.

Sabathia (19-8, 3.00) vs. Justin Verlander (24-5, 2.40); 8:37 on TBS Sat.- Ivan Nova (16-4, 3.70) vs. Doug Fister (11-13, 2.83); 8:37 on TBS Sun.- off at Comerica Park Mon.- Freddy Garcia (12-8, 3.62) vs. Max Scherzer (15-9, 4.43); 8:37 on TBS Tue.- Game 4 if necessary on TBS Wed.- off at Yankee Stadium Thu.- Game 5 if necessary on TBS
For some reason the Fan was saying Colon for game 3. I guess they were wrong. Is anybody surprised not to see the $80mil pitcher AJ Burnett not pitching a game?? He didn't deserve a spot and in a 7 game series I would throw Colon before AJ.
For those who live in the East, are there any talks or mention about a conspiracy (theory)? Talks about that has been quiet in the West Coast.
No the Yanks just blew it. If they wanted to throw the game than they wouldn't have jumped out to a 7-0 lead. And they rested a lot of guy's in the bullpen
Agree. We have a quite a number of BoSox fans here, and I only ran into one person who is adamant that Yankees threw the game.
