    Malmö FF–Elfsborg 2–1 (1–0)

    1–0 Wilton Figueiredo (32), 1–1 Lasse Nilsson (53), 2–1 Wilton Figueiredo (68).
yellow cards, Malmö FF: Wilton Figueiredo.
    Elfsborg: Jesper Christiansen.
    referee: Martin Hansson, Holmsjö.
    attendance: 11 333
Malmö FF (4–4–2): Dusan Melicharek – Ulrich Vinzents, Pontus Jansson, Markus Halsti, Ricardinho – Jiloan Hamad, Jeffrey Aubynn (Amin Nazari 75), Wilton Figueiredo, Jimmy Durmaz (Miiko Albornoz 68) – Agon Mehmeti, Daniel Larsson (Dardan Rexhepi 83).
Elfsborg (4–5–1): Jesper Christiansen – Daniel Mobaeck, Jon Jönsson, Andreas Augustsson, Johan Karlsson – Johan Larsson (Martin Ericsson 73), Stefan Ishizaki, Anders Svensson, Oscar Hiljemark (David Elm 73), Niklas Hult – Lasse Nilsson

Brazilian star Figueiredo gets fouled outside the box after 30 minutes gone. He himself steps up to take it. He curls it above the IFE wall and 1-0 to the Sky Blues of Malmö. It had been an even match until then but suddenly Elfsborg started stringing their passes together and were the better side in the last 10 minutes of the half.
Elfsborg then continues this trend in the 2nd half when Larsson crosses nicely to attacker Nilsson and we have 1-1 on the scoreboard at Swedbank Stadion. Another fine chance for Nilsson shortly after with Hult being the provider. Malmö were pressurized but made a fine counterattacking move after 68 minutes. Mehmeti finds Figueiredo who scores his second goal in the match.
Malmö ironically helps local rivals Helsingborg make a leap away from todays opponents Elfsborg who would feel a bit annoyed not at least snatching 1 point in Malmö considering their numerous created chances in the game. Malmö haven´t in turn given up the Europa placings.....

    Gais–Mjällby 3–0 (2–0)

    1–0 Wanderson (2), 2–0 Mervan Celik (9), 3–0 Mervan Celik (75).
sending off, Mjällby: Patrick Osiako (72).
yellow cards, Gais: Mervan Celik, Calum Angus.
    Mjällby: Patrick Rosengren, Tobias Grahn.
    referee
    attendance: 3 858.
Gais (4–5–1): Dime Jankulovski – Richard Ekunde, Calum Angus, Fredrik Lundgren, Kenneth Gustafsson – Jesper Florén (Romario Sipiao 77), Markus Gustafsson, Wanderson, Reuben Ayarna, Mervan Celik (Jonas Lundén 86) – Eric Magloire Bassombeng (Gzim Istrefi 81).
Mjällby (4–4–2): Mattias Asper – Jesper Westerberg, Joachim Lantz, Patrik Rosengren, William Leandersson – Daniel Nilsson, Patrick Osiako, Tobias Grahn, Pavel Zavadil (Daniel Nicklasson 59) – Pär Eriksson, Marcus Ekenberg (Simon Nilsson 79

Bassombeng wins the ball in midfield territory. Mervan Celik recieves the ball and runs at the Mjällby defense. Asper fends him off but Wanderson scores on the return and 1-0 to GAIS after just 2 minutes gone. The second goal came 7 minutes later as Bassombeng makes a fine move on the MAIF defenders and the crosses in towards Celik who scores from near distance to 2-0.
Wanderson then in the 2nd half has his wonderful shot hitting the post.
The sparce crowd in Gothenburg has to wait until the 75th minute for the final goal to the home side. Bassombeng finds Gustavsson who heads it back to Mervan Celik who scores his 2nd in the match. It was a very fine move indeed and the match ends well deservedly 3-0 to GAIS who defends the 4th place for the time being although both Malmö and Häcken could surpass them having less matches played. Mjällby seemingly in rather comfortable area in the league at the moment but shouldn´t slip up too many times or they could be still in a spot of bother.

    AIK-Syrianska FC 1-0 (0–0)
    1–0 Robert Åhman Persson (90).
sending off, Syrianska FC: Erkan Saglik (82).
yellow cards, AIK: Daniel Gustavsson. Syrianska FC: Anders Bååth, Ivan Ristic.
    referee: Daniel Stålhammar, Landskrona.
    attendance: 12 023.
AIK (4–4–2): Ivan Turina – Martin Lorentzson, Alexander Milosevic, Niklas Backman, Nils-Eric Johansson – Daniel Gustavsson (Gabriel Özkan 62), Robert Åhman Persson, Helgi Danielsson, Martin Kayongo-Mutumba (Viktor Lundberg 61) – Kwame Karikari (Lalawélé Atakora 81), Mohamed Bangura
Syrianska FC (4–5–1): Dwayne Miller – Isa Demir, Ivan Ristic, Omar Jawo, David Durmaz (Rabi Elia 53) – Imad Zatara, Alexander Michel (Erkan Saglik 79), Dinko Felic, Anders Bååth, Yussuf Saleh – Peter Ijeh (Sharbel Touma 74)

I will leave it up to AIK_Stockholm to give us his thoughts on this game.
AIK had a fine header by Milosevic hitting the post in the 67th minute. Backman the provider. Bangura came free on goal in a fine move where I think it was Özkan passing to him. Miller though saving that time for Syrianska. In the 82nd minute Zaglik makes a herendous foul on Viktor Lundberg who momentarily seemed uncontious. Red card to the Syriac player. 5 minutes later Åhman-Persson has his freekick saved but Danielsson shoots on the return but misses. Robert Åhman-Persson releases a wonderful freekick in the 91st minute, unstoppable for Miller in goal and Råsunda explodes in happiness. I guess the second half was a strong one by AIK and finally they got a thorough and well deserved victory. AIK still in 3rd spot finds some breathing space to the chasers below and can perhaps look forward to a year in european competition next season!? Syrianska still have only 18 points and are below the qualification spot at the moment. This is obviously a welcomed result for AIK´s local rivals Djurgården who are currently holding that qualification place.

    Helsingborg-Örebro 2-0 (0–0)

    1–0 Hannu Patronen (71), 2–0 May Mahlangu (85).
sending off, Örebro: Per Johansson (59).
    yellow cards, Örebro: Robin Staaf.
    referee: Markus Strömbergsson, Gävle.
    attendance: 7 862.
Helsingborg (4–4–2): Pär Hansson – Christoffer Andersson, Markus Holgersson, Hannu Patronen, Erik Edman (Erik Wahlstedt 26) – Mattias Lindström (Alvaro Santos 64), Ardian Gashi, May Mahlangu, Simon Thern – Rasmus Jönsson, Erik Sundin (Jörgen Skjelvik 89).

Örebro (4–3–3): John Alvbåge – Eidur Aron Sigbjörnsson, Patrik Haginge, Magnus Wikström, Per Johansson – Fredrik Nordback, Emil Berger, Nordin Gerzic – Marcus Astvald (Kushtrim Lushtaku 63), Robin Staaf (Denis Abdulahi 72), Valdet Rama (Karl Holmberg 79

Helsingborg haven´t lost in 14 consecutive games. They don´t play particularly entertaining but they certainly brings home the points with an impressive regularity. Patrunen scores on a return coming out to him after 71 minutes. Everything is going the Scanian team´s way at the moment. The goal was basically the result of a mistake by Lushtaku of Örebro. ÖSK had up until this period played an even game with the hosts but suddenly the nervousness came creeping again for Örebro as in many earlier games for them and the individual mistake punnished them. And voilá the 2-0 goal also came from a bad pass. This time by midfield star Gerzic. Helsingborg´s Sundin picked it up and passed forward to Mahlangu who made no mistake. In fact it was a really fine effort by the african player placing the ball in the top hand corner. Helsingborg now moves further away from chasing Elfsborg. 6 points is the gap. Örebro are surely a dissapointment afterall. They have sold a couple of very competent players though and perhaps that is the main reason behind the mid placing in the league!?

Halmstad´s right defender Emil Samuelsson has signed a 4,5 year deal with IFK Göteborg. He can also play as a wing midfielder as well. Good tecchnique, shooting and makes strong searching runs up and down the right flank. Right defender Adam Johansson´s contract expires soon and I suppose Samuelsson will be an option replacing him!?

Halmstad have a couple of other interesting players who surely will try to move from the club thanks to their precarious situation in the league.

Mohammed Bangura of AIK Stockholm has signed with Celtic in Scotland.

Star attacker and current leader of the scorers league, Mattias Ranégie has signed a deal with Malmö FF. The deal spans over a 3,5 year period. He turned down the offer from local rivals Helsingborg.

Thomas Sörum from norwegian Haugesund has signed a deal with Helsingborg. The 28 year old has scored 45 goals in 77 games in the norwegian league.

Yeah they sure are very entertaining players indeed. There are no signs of any replacements yet it seems for AIK!? They will wait till the next transfer window then. They´ve earned a lot of money selling players this season.Their economy hasn´t been the best earlier so this will fill a loty of holes.

Kalmar FF´s offensive midfielder/forward Sobralense will sign a contract with IFK Göteborg according to rumours.

Attacker Fejzulahu of Nejmegen in Holland signs with Mjällby.

26 year old panamaian attacker Bruno Hay Pino signs a contract at Örebro for the remainder of the season.

Icelandic player and attacker Gudjon Petur Lydsson form Valur, Iceland signs a loan deal with Helsingborg. It is their second signing in a short period.

22 year old danish attacker from Bröndby Nicolaj Agger signs a deal with Djurgården for the remainder of the season. They also have the option to buy him after this period.

Elfsborg elects to send their attacker Keene on a loan to Fredrikstad, Norway.

I really hope he can help jump-start DIF's offense. Scoring has been a big problem all season and is one of the main reason we're so low in the standings now.

Welcome back ?, I was never gone my friend. Haha you're an analyzing oracle mate :) :disclaimer you know I am not being ironic ;) :

Well it didn't take long after I asked the question about the No.3 spot for it to be gone. They had the chance and then ended up losing to the ÖSK ghost Mjällby and the streak ended with yet another loss after that. I almost feel as if the next question should be if they will have to play-off against a superettan team but nah, that's not gonna happen. They will end up in the bottom half or so this season but I put my faith in the cup.

Last but not least, screw Hungary!

I was surprised, that Brøndby sent Nicolaj Agger out on loan, considering that they lack experienced strikers and that he was their second most scoring player in the Superliga last season... but then it is not the first time Brøndby have done foolish things like this... you may remember that they also threw away Søren Larsen just before he got his big breakthrough... Nicolaj Agger btw is the younger cousin of Danish international Daniel Agger.

Yes, I must say I was a bit surprised by this news regarding Nicolaj. Such a young and as I understand it relatively talented as well and going to a weaker league. Bröndby is a well respected club in Sweden, seen as one of the bigger clubs in historic terms.

Well I´m also rooting for a team not quite reaching their potential either. In the early parts of the season you guys won against us at Ullevi. It all looked rosy and shiny for ÖSK then. After a period they started losing their momentum in the league. They also went out early in Europe. Moral was on a low. To top it all off ÖSK sold one of Allsvenskan´s best defenders, Almebäck. Rather early a nother prominent player, attacker Haddad got a long term injury and suddenly it was impossible to score. The only positive part for them is that they are still in the Svenska Cupen. Also it will be interesting what their "youtube" player from Panama will manage. Seems a bit far fetched but who knows.....he might be some sort of saviour. Ehrmmm....well another positive thing is also that they prolonged with Nordin Gerzic, the midfield virituoso.

Malmö FF and Helsingborg should look into joining the danish league. Allsvenskan is a joke.

Indeed it´s a crappy league and it wouldn´t help the cause losing two of the best clubs either. The danish league is obviously better. We all know that.

Then how about if some teams break away from the claws of the corrupt and incompetent people over at SVFF and start up their own league?

How many times can you (SVFF) shoot yourself in the foot before you bleed out?

I don't think you'll find argumentative people here, frenil, sorry. Thank you for making your point.

I just read that MFF is going to replay DIF. And from what I understand, the match will be starting at 0-0!

Obviously I'm happy with this...but is it fair?

The coaching trio at IFK Gothenburg have more or less been sacked. They will get to coach the team until the end of the season. Rumours concerning the replacement points in several directions. One of them being former AIK(!) coach Stahre. When I first heard of it I was very surprised. It would be a very bold move by Sports Director Mild, since he knows that the fans of the two respective clubs aren´t exactly loving eachothers clubs. Stahre is seen as a individual with a strong AIK heart. Notable is also his win with AIK in that epic final match against IFK 2009, when they won the league with a narrow margin ahead of IFK ironically. Angel fans haven´t forgetten that and so basically this is a very peculiar move I must say. But actually personally I think it´s all very entertaining and I hope he comes to IFK since he seems to be a very competent coach. We need a bit more "AIK-mentality" in IFK and not that typical IFK mentality of "well done boys you did well" all the time.

    AIK

Legendary Nils-Eric Johansson have found his spot in left defence. You won´t move this guy from this spot easily.

    Djurgården

Joel Riddez delivers in a club having slight problems at the moment in the league. But mostly DIF´s problem seems to be the attacking dimension of the game.

    Elfsborg

Johan Karlsson is nearing the end of his career at this level. He´s done well though. Great shot, powerful. Long searching runs and good two way player. Will probably be replaced by newly signed Larsson from Kalmar. So that part of the roster is filled up

    GAIS

Kenneth Gustavsson perhaps not one of the better left backs but popular amongst fans. He is good at tackling and marking. The GAIS´s offense is so strong so they don´t seem to focus on getting the best defenders :).

    Gefle

Portin and Bernhardsson obviously does something right. The Gefle defense is well known for being well organised. But basically that is all thanks to coach Olsson. The individual skill level perhaps not the greatest in this side.

    Halmstad

Here I think there is an open spot to fill. But that would probably be in the second league since Halmstad looks set for relegation. Järdler haven´t really found form at since he came to HBK.

    Helsingborg

Veteran Edman is a competent left back. He´s aging though and sooner or later a replacement will be needed. But at the moment filled.

    Häcken

Finnish Arkivuo is very competent. Slightly injury prone though. And Häcken´s speciality seems to be selling of their best players and earning money and then finding new good replacements. The type of club good at getting the most out of their players. Good place to be if you´re a talent....

    IFK Göteborg

Well here is a club that haven´t really found a convincing left back. Valgardsson haven´t impressed me that much to be frank. Jonsson used to play left defender but wasn´t that fanatstic there. One of the weakest spots in this club. I would welcome a new left defender here.....

    Kalmar

Not too sure what Kalmar is doing really. They have just sold Larsson to Elfsborg. Very solid left defender. Wel what do we have left.....Ermin Nouri? Yeah sure a very technically skilled kind of flank defender but perhaps not top notch still!? They need to find some replacement. Open spot.

    Malmö

Brazilian Ricardinho is one of (if not the best) left defenders. He´s earlier prolonged with the club. Difficult to snatch that spot for a while :).....

    Mjällby

A small local club where the fans aren´t too gready for success. Leandersson not that individually skilled but has a big heart for the tiny club and their fans for him. But this is the type of club where it is easier to get a spot in the roster for sure.

    Norrköping

It is difficult to follow this spot for Norrköping. Coach Andersson seems to mix it up for every game. Florén wre used to playing flank defender at Elfsborg. Now he´s been playing there lately when Da Cruz and Wikström have played centrally and instantly it works better. They have several options here though. Not their greatest concern for the moment....

    Syrianska

Club in relegation territory. No class acts in this spot. Seems to look for players all over the world. A cultural melting pot where everyone seems to be welcomed....

    Trelleborg

    M. Andersson. Demir....Nothing special. Nothing that impresses.

    Örebro

Samuel Wowoah. Technically skilled. Exciting and entertaining player. A class act. Popular amongst fans. Good luck to anyone trying to snatch his place.....

So generally smaller clubs have lesser players obviously in these spots. Perhaps there are exceptions from this rule like Kalmar and Göteborg.....

Häcken gives Elfsborg a helping hand to come closer again in the title race. Replacement for Ranégie, Mjeed Waris scores Häcken´s goal after 9 minutes. Hard working midfielder Lindström saves the day for league leaders HIF.

Djurgården´s Sebastian Rajalakso prolongs his contract at the club 3 further seasons. The midfielder/forward is quick paced and goals he scores is often through his thunder of a shot. Can sometimes fade out of the games, but then suddenly burst and play really well. From what I´v seen a bit up and down. Potent player at his best though.....

Perhaps a good result for Djurgården. Two of the weaker sides played out a draw. So hopefully for DIF they can win their match and back some points and narrow the gap up wards in the league now. MAIF attacker Fejzulahu made his return to the club but failed to score though.
