The only home midweek game of the 2011 season for the Strikers is tomorrow vs. Carolina at Lockhart.

They've clinched a bye, and pretty much first place, so this game does not mean a whole lot to the Railhawks. And they'll be missing Etienne Barbara due to a red card suspension. So considering we've played decently against them and won a game already this season at home, the chance for 3 points is definitely there.

We need at least a draw from this one.

Absolutely, the 3 pts. are there for the taking...I'll be about 30 minutes late--son's Open House Night at the school...so sorry to hear that Barbara will be out of the Hawks' lineup, boo-hoo.

I'm with you DR. This game means a lot to the Strikers, and very little to the Railhawks. No Barbara is an added bonus. I really hope we see Restrepo back in the lineup this week. Morales can park it on the bench. I assume Arrieta still won't be back, so Gordon will need to fill in on the back line again. He played adequately against Montreal, but the entire group will be under a lot more pressure this time, even without Barbara.

I'm going with a 2 - 1 Strikers victory for my prediction. Would love to see some decent weather so we have a chance at 3,000+ even though it's a weeknight. Come on Strikers, the Rowdies are now in. We can punch our ticket as well with a win and a Montreal loss in Puerto Rico, where the Islanders will be highly motivated with a first round bye within their grasp. Everyone come out and cheer the boys on tomorrow night, Go Strikers!!!

I wonder which Strikers team will show up? Carolina looked very good against Tampa on saturday.

    Go piss up a rope.....:D

TWC predicts that the highest probability of showers today is 30%, between 6PM & 9PM this evening.....:(...Let's hope for the best, both from the weather & from the Strikers.

Looks like the one-nil strikers showed up, for the second time in a row.

It looks like these people work in mysterious ways. We can blame the rain, but arguably our strongest performance since the beginning of the season was the TBFC makeup - a midweek game lucky to have avoided the rain that fell throughout the day.

That makeup Tampa game was the second best crowd of the year. The weather held out that day and there were a lot of free bonus tickets given away because of the rainout.

Since then, it's rained pre-game almost every single game, and the spotty form from the club hasn't helped. This was the only scheduled mid-week home game of the season, and they usually do not draw very well for any club.

Good win, here's hoping for another on Sunday and then a nice turnout for the regular season home finale on the 17th!

Agreed. It's about damn time he found someone. The last 5-10 minutes were as nervy as I can remember all season. Carolina didn't really seem interested in winning.

There's no way we topped 2,000, but I'm glad we reported it anyway.

Unfortunately I saw Arrieta walking with a limp and Restrepo in a walking boot in the stands as the game was about to start. Arrieta was subbed out after 51 minutes on Tuesday.

At least a draw vs Edmonton and we should crack the top four for a home game. We have the easiest remaining schedule, though it's not by much.

Yes, Laing finally uses his speed, coupled with making a well place pass at last, to our advantage.

Of note: of the 5 losses Carolina's had this year 2 have been from the Strikers at Lockhart. I don't know what to make of that other than we certainly needed the 6 points....

Being able to hang with Carolina could come in handy in the playoffs. If we were to face them in the semis or the finals, they'd have to play us at Lockhart for one of the legs, in front of what one would assume would be a bigger, more raucous crowd.

The Strikers have to have a ton of confidence that they can play with Carolina at this point, especially at home in Lockhart. As a matter of fact, the Railhawks are the ONLY team they will win both home games against this season, since ATL is all that is left and we already lost to them  their first trip in.
