Di Natale just never got hold of the ball today. Scored a bucketfull last season though. Always seems like he enjoys his football.

A one home goal lead going to Italy is going to be tough to hang on to. That's after they play us as well.

And before they play Red Scum at Old Trafford. I don't know if I can think of any other 3 game stretch this early in the season THIS important for one club.

As for us, anything less than a draw is a complete disaster, though we really need to take advantage of Arsenal's current problems and injuries as win this game.

So what has happened with the Lukaku transfer? The deal was announced, what? ten days ago, and there has been no further statements that I have seen.

The two sides still haven't agreed to a deal, though I read today that Lukaku is waiting in London for the deal to finish. His agent and Chelsea seem to be in a slight disagreement however the deal is still expected to finalize in the upcoming days.

I wonder what it is that Lukaku's agent is trying to get for his player that has held the deal up. Really expected this deal to have been settled before the opening match.

Am I ever glad we did not buy Christian Zapata when we were linked to him earlier in the summer. Just watched the Villareal @ Odense game and Zapata made THE dumbest mistake and Odense won 1-0 as a result.

Marcelo is a thug. And that wasn't the first horrendous challenge from Madrid in the 2nd half.

Maurinho flicked some guys ears it seemed. Ozil was crazy furious. I never saw a frog so mad. Handbags was hilarious.

But good match overall and Messi again dominates RM.

Off topic but it Skysports just revealed that Dortmund will let Mario Gotze go, but only abroad. That rules Bayern out, I'd LOVE to see him at Anfield but relaistically that probably won't be the case. :(

Nonsense story. Götze isn't going anywhere anytime soon. If he does it'll probably be Barca/Madrid.

    From Simon Clancy on twitter:

"Fabregas has now won as many trophies in 15 minutes at Barcelona as he did in 6 seasons at Arsenal."

Pique thinks Mourinho is ruining Spanish football:

    http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/...estroying-spanish-football-real-madrid-081811

Just an opinion, but Pique should STFU. He has no right to complain, he plays for a near-invincible team and he's only whining because Real might actually challenge Barca this season. I'm sick of this sense of entitlement to everything that Barcelona think they have, and I cannot wait for someone to put them in their place.

I agree. I'd just really rather it wasn't RM that did it. RM has every bit as much a sense of entitlement.

Personally, an English or German team taking them out of the champions league would be perfect. :D

Have you seen the way Madrid act whenever it's clear they're going to lose to Barcelona? Marcelo's scissor tackle on Fabregas was almost predictable. Ramos tried to break Messi's leg late in a game last season. Every match so far has featured an irrational and dangerous late tackle from Madrid players late in the game. To say he's whining because Madrid will challenge Barcelona is totally misguided.

He's saying that Mourinho is actually destroying the chemistry of the Spanish national team. He's got his players so obsessed with beating Barcelona - and his method is to physically intimidate (I'd say physically assault) the Barcelona players. Every game there's a fight and between the two teams you have most of the Spanish national team. That's what Pique is complaining about. I don't know what you're talking about in regards to entitlement.

You seem to be siding solely with Barcelona here. Growing up I was taught that it takes two people (or in this case, sides) to start a fight. Pique isn't accepting any of the blame for his club (which is totally unfair). There is also no proof at all that Mourinho is telling his players to go out and injure Barcelona players, and to think he is is somewhat absurd.

This is patently obvious if you watch the games. Real can't catch them so they kick them. Then they tackle late and criminally. That much is clear. And Real didn't play like that before JoSay arrived

Agreed. Barcelona have every right to their sense of entitlement. They are playing some of the best football anyone has ever seen, and they have one of the best players anyone has ever seen. Madrid are so frustrated by their failures against Barcelona that they have resorted to thuggery. Mourhino is embarrassing himself and Pique's comments were justified.

As far as an English club knocking off Barca...I would hate to see it unless it was Liverpool. With Liverpool not competing in Europe, I hope Barca win again because they are worthy champions and a joy to watch.

Who might that be? They are truly in class a of their own. And if the way Fabregas looked in just 10 minutes is any indicator of what is to happen the rest of the season, Barca are going to win it all.
