I'll be in town this weekend with a group of buddies (Regency Hyatt on Wacker) and I'm looking for a place to take in some games Saturday morning.

    What's close?

There's Fado's downtown (100 W. Grand)...but it sucks. Take the brown line to the Globe (1934 W. Irving Park), it'll be worth it.

How far is the ride? Not familiar with Chicago's transit system.

Yeah, you need to go to The Globe or Buzz Bombs(JK!). Brown line or 15 dollar 20 minute cab ride from the loop.

you can catch the brown line at state and lake which is just a few blocks from your hotel, take that to the Irving park stop.Just prepare to relax as its a good 20-30 minute ride, but it's all EL so it's a cool way to see the city.save the cab fare for drinks as the cab ride wont save you that much time or hassle (though after a few it's nice to take a cab back downtown)
