The hope, obviously, is that a coach of great enough charisma, with cash to spend, can make the case that he is going to turn things around. The soccer mom jab is a canard. Most of the fans at the stadium follow the game. The hope/assumption is that many more would come if the atmosphere were improved. As you have pointed out, there is a lot that could be improved, including the grass - if the will and the money were there.

The question that the FO - primarily BK - have to sort out is how much money is it worth to them to get the club off life support?

Getting the "great coach" to come here is as impossible as it is to get the great players to come here. No one wants to come to this situation. It's one of the worst in football.

The soccer mom "jab" is not a canard. It's the truth. Most of the fans at the game don't follow the game. They follow their kids around the concourse buying nachos. There are passionate fans, but they are vastly outnumbered by the soccer mom (and kids) crowd that is only there to get out of the house and see some wholesome good natured entertainment.

CCL Group Stage starts tonight with the Gals taking on Motagua (Honduras) at home and Seattle taking on Comunicaciones (Guatemala) also at home.

Tomorrow Dallas will be at Pumas (Mex) and the Rapids take on Metapán (El Sal) at home.

On Thursday, TFC heads to Tauro (Panama).

If Dallas can beat Pumas on Mexico soil, it will be the first American team to do so since the big bang.

    From the Twitterlands:

    MLS Major League Soccer
Former @FCDallas and Kansas City striker Eddie Johnson to return to #MLS. More details to come.

Considering not too many teams have the available cap space for Eddie Johnson, if Chivas passes on him I'm curious if he'd fall all the way to the Revs.

Not that I'd be all that enthused about signing the least effective striker in recent Fulham history, but it would give the team some actual depth at that position.

I highly doubt EJ will fall all the way to the Revs. However we could trade up to get him. IMO, this could be the perfect time to trade Shalrie and start rebuilding for next year.

The Revs most likely won't do anything though.

He won't fall all the way to the Revs. Trading Shalrie would indeed be interesting. I don't want EJ, but if Shalrie's leaving, might as well get something for nothing.

Something...that they won't build around, just like they haven't for Shalrie.

getting EJ isn't heading in the right direction. Getting rid of the FO is.

I'm not saying signing EJ is going to bring this team an MLS Cup. Stop making everything about the front office.

He doesn't need to fall at all, if he's a DP, and he was making (grandfathered) DP money before he left MLS.

According to Ives, he's going to be allocated out ... so we really have no shot at him anyway.

The new DP rule, per Ives.
So no matter what our "DP" is making, he's not going to hurt us cap wise.

    And more
    And finally ...

Juan Pablo Angel announces he's trained with Chivas USA, the club still have not announced the acquisition. Comforting to know there is an ownership out there just as inept as ours.

I know didn't say that, and I didn't suggest you did. I suggested that trading Shalrie for EJ was pointless, so long as the same people are picking the rest of the players. This is all about the FO, whether you want it to be or not. They pick the players.

From the Seattle game last night:
    Misconduct Summary:
CMG -- Jairo Arreola (caution; Dissent) 9
SEA -- Patrick Ianni (caution; Tactical Foul) 16
SEA -- James Riley (caution; Reckless Tackle) 47+
CMG -- Carlos Castrillo (caution; Reckless Tackle) 50
SEA -- Leo Gonzalez (caution; Tactical Foul) 54
SEA -- Lamar Neagle (ejection; Violent Conduct) 55
CMG -- Adolfo Machado (caution; Reckless Tackle) 60
CMG -- Carlos Ramirez (caution; Unsporting Behavior) 69
SEA -- Jhon Kennedy Hurtado (caution; Unsporting Behavior) 69
CMG -- Edgard Martinez (ejection; Abusive Language) 80
CMG -- Fredy Thompson (caution; Reckless Tackle) 91+

Looks like the game was a tad chippy. Funny to see a yellow for dissent in the 9th minute. Either the Ref was horrible or that Arreola guy was pissed off from the get go....maybe someone was busting his balls over his last name

Both results last night though were good for MLS teams with LA winning 2-0 and Seattle with a 4-1 win.
