Morgan and Marta are kinda going for the ball at the same time in the same areas, why are they both on the field at the same time?

Same here. I don't want ATL to give up more, but now I kinda want WNY to get a third through Sinclair right now....

720 minutes without scoring a goal. That's pretty much a minor-league team right there. Atlanta doesn't deserve to be in WPS next year.

Well, Sinclair had her chances to take the boot..

Apparently, Pia and Paul had a "chat" after the Philly-Magicjack match.

757, actually. And as I said before, they have no real forwards, so... yeah. And if you were watching, it's not like they didn't test the goal either.

Amen to that, Lori has been the best player on the Beat all season. Nonstop player with great reading of game.Needs a load of supporting cast because even though she plays with heart and soul she cannot do it alone.Hope that she comes back next Season and that T,Fitz opens wallet to give her support, maybe he'll dump the blunder and get a real coach too.

Mitts played exceptionally well this last game and that Header save from what seemed certain to be another Marta goal was phenominal,Mitts rocketed across to head it clear.Brilliant game, Heather.

Rest of team played better than the last game.

They were level at the end of last week, and I was thinking "here we go again."

It thunderstormed hard all afternoon. I packed my rain gear and crossed my fingers. There were a lot more fans than I expected given the weather. It rained lightly most of the first half, but not at all second half. There were fans packed into the corners for a change and they did a great job making noise during corner kicks.

For Project Pink, the players made up gift baskets to raffle off. Most had things like signed cleats, tee shirts, a personal note card, snacks and other goodies - very nice. The team also raffled off their pink jerseys. The two raffles combined for more than $10,000 for Susan G. Komen Foundation. Not bad at all.

After the game the players picked the tickets and read off the numbers for the jersey raffle. Alex Morgan told Soccer Sam (our 'cheesy announcer guy') that she does not like him calling her the Pink Princess. Thank goodness that's over - I cringed every time he said it.

More on Alex - the players throw mini-balls into the stands right before kickoff. Most go into the bench/press box side of the field. Alex always runs across to the other side to throw hers. Sad to say, she throws like a girl :D

I loved Heather Mitts header to clear the goal line from Marta's attack. She saved Whitworth's butt on that one.

And count me in as a once, now, and future Lori Chaluipny fan. If she was left back (even though she hated it) we would have won the WC.

I can't wait for the WPS final!

It's a shame Lori can't be on the US National Team anymore. If we would have had her during the 2011 WWC, I think we would have won. I still dont' understand why she can't play on the national team if she's allowed to play on the WPS team. it seems like if its too dangerous for her to be on the national games wouldn't it be dangerous for her to be out in the WPS games as well?

Other folks can correct me, but I think there are two factors. First I believe the USSF attorneys are gun shy, based on the fact that Michele Akers sued USSF claiming inadequate medical care and she won. Second, I heard or read somewhere that Lori did not want to play defense and came to an impasse with Pia about that., so even if Lori got re-instated, she was not going to be a happy camper with Pia in charge. Both are pure speculation on my part, so take it FWIW.

    QFT.

And it can't be said enough.

    FYP.

That can't be said enough, either.

And thanks for the in-person game report.

Without a doubt. It was just plain disappointing to hear the hometown roars during the lineups for Mitts and Lloyd after the WWC and then just a small murmur for Chalupny. I spoke with her after a game and told her she still has a lot of supporters out here that KNOW she should've been on the WNT. She just did that "Aw shucks" smile and said she hopes to get back there someday. I think I'm going to start a "Cheep Chalupny!" campaign (hopefully it won't get confused with "cheap"). Fitz needs to make her re-signing priority 1 (and about 5 forwards priority 2).
