Multiple sources say Robbie Keane to LA is a done deal, which would suggest Angel has already been moved. To where? Philly? DC? Chicago?

    According to SoccerByIves:

"As for LA, w/ Beckham, Donovan and Keane as DPs, Galaxy MUST move Angel. Knowing that, can't see teams giving up much of anything for him."

How about just take him, we want nothing in return.. Well maybe a bag of balls.

As I posted in MLS N+A forum:

This is an amazing move by Galaxy. Keane is way better than Angel. Anyone who doubts he has still got a scoring touch can reference his goals against Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Macedonia in May and June. As long as Beckham and Donovan keep him supplied, Keane will bang them in guaranteed.

Just discussed on Talksport Radio. Described as "can officially confirm that LA has inquired about Keane".

I wonder if Beckham put a flea in his ear when he was training with Spurs.

    From Mark Donaldson's twitter:

"Transfer exclusive - Robbie Keane has agreed terms with LA Galaxy. Lucrative deal worth $9million over next 2 years. Keane on flight to LA.'

Finally, some ethnic pandering to my heritage....

    :)

Well, at 9mil for 2 years, it's obvious that the Galaxy is going all-in this year to win it. With Beckham's last year possibly and MLS Cup at our home stadium -- time to go for broke...

Obviously, Keane can't do any worse for us than Angel has, and if he can show up and be 80% of the player he used to be, combined with our existing midfield and defense, things look good for us....

    Oh Happy Day :D

It will be interesting to see where Angel winds up though. I feel for the guy, but it was time.

Its also refreshing to me to see Bruce have the wherewithall to dump one of "his" veteran guys. Alot of us have given him flack for apparently not being able to do that, so this is a very good sign to me.

Angel is a classy guy and I wish him the best...

But if this is all true, it's very very good news.

    The latest:

Robbie Keane latest - terms agreed with LA. #Galaxy in the process of trying to get rid of Juan Pablo Angel to free designated spot on rota.

From what I am reading, sounds like they are really trying to offload JPA to make this work.

    ******** YEAH!!!! (if true)

Robbie Keane is exactly the type of striker we need. He reads the game so well has a cheeky side to his game – in the best possible way, not the cheek Ruiz has – and just has a nose for goal. I know many of my fellow Spurs fans got fed up with him, especially after the Liverpool farce, but I’d have preferred him to Defoe last season.

I was about to post how it would be impossible to clear roster space and Bruce was just blowing smoke about trying to get someone. Fortunately, I waited so I didn't have to embarrass myself :D

What is JPA's worth in the market? I'm not sure how it works when eating part of the salary of a DP.

    This.

    And oh, this.

I can't believe this is happening at this point in our season. Yes, it's driven by the EPL season, but ....

I'm waiting to be bathed in the waterfalls of whine that will no doubt pour from the great unwashed like a river of liquid self-loathing and insecurity.

To quote my own bad self, Yes, we are that special. We are LA. Get used to it already.

This article makes it sound ALMOST like a done deal. Still need to find a place for JPA. And it says it's a 2 year, $8 million contract (not $9).

    http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/...xy-designed-player-major-league-soccer-081211

Also, I feel bad for JPA. He seems like a good guy and is genuinely frustrated with his performance. Hopefully he can find his touch again somewhere else.

True, it was a shame to see him struggle so mightily. It’s easy to be angry with a player when they don’t perform as well as you want, but it must absolutely crush a player when they recognize the game has passed them by.

In practical terms since he has a guaranteed contract, can the Galaxy buy it out and basically make him a free agent, or do we have to find a team that wants him?

buying a jersey asap too, not the best day of my Galaxy life but its up there.

I'm of mixed heritage but my Irish blood flows strong, so this is a fine day if all the rumors are true.

If true, San Jose fans are going to be pissed (again) since their “special relationship” with Tottenham got them Simon Dawkins – even I’d never heard of him.

THIS! Class through and through, though he hasn't been productive, it's been an honor having him in our colors. I hope he lands on his feet.

I'm quite skeptical that anyone is going to want him unless we send another player with him.

    This, too.

I don't believe JPA is as "done" as others might. That said, he just was never going to fit into Bruce's system. Ever.

I am very happy to see our club go get a guy who can still produce at the highest of levels. Keane is a class player.

Yeah - if the Galaxy offer to cover half of his remaining salary (approx. $525,00) does that also lower his cap-hit in half, or does he still count $165,000 towards a teams salary cap....
