This will be the only time I will ever agree with metz. Bob Bradley would be an unmitigated disaster.

If anyone was going to replace Backe which I am not ready to write him off yet, it should be Martin Rennie.

I will accept you theory if the team was in a winner streak, but from May 7 the RBNY has play 17 MLS games with only 3 winners, 10 tie and 4 looses games, what this show is that they need something to energize the players and isn't anything else so magic to do this, that to tell to a player that he have to sit for x game because he isn't doing his job and that he (the coach) will substitute him for some body else to do his job....

Of course you theory will be accepted if we have 10-W, 3-L and 4-T, but that isn't the case....

Magee and Gavin were the only redeeming qualities of bradley, Johnny Walker wasnt a bad choice by him either after Howard went his own way but he just added more to the misery of the metro's when he was here. Seems like we can never get a coach that anyone loves!

I've always thought Sasho Cirovski would be great at the MLS level.

Backe came into the job with no prior MLS experience and has turned the team from last in the conference to one of the better squads in the league in just a year-and-a-half, so I'm willing to cut him some slack for the time being. The Gold Cup hurt team continuity quite a bit especially in defense, and the injuries to Rafa and Rodgers haven't helped. Only in the last few weeks has the ideal squad been together for the first time since May, and the results in London might be evidence of some solid re-gelling, even if they were just friendlies.

Considering the overall history of this club, the fact that there's mass complaint over a guy who's only lost 14 out of 53 league games in charge seems sort of silly.

I actually think Bradley is going to take it easy for a while before taking another job. He probably got a decent severance package from the USSF and might want to suss out whatever overseas options might exist.

I think Backe rubs some fans the wrong way because well he seems a bit too comfy with his job. But in reality NYRB were missing almost half of their starting lineup for a month. Even than they can still win the east.

Being a good coach is not about knowing the league which certainly helps but about getting the best out of the players you have. Currently, the US doesnt have the mentality nor the coaching staff to get the best out of them until now. I think it was been a great change for the US national team that should of happened a long time ago.

Discount it all you want, but under Backe's direction (with out Ritchie) the team has won only 6 (SIX) games. If things keep trending in the Eastern Conference, NYRB will be playing for the remaining playoff spot. I believe most clubs pay a coach to win, not tie. There's really no excuse given the talent at his disposal. Yeah, I would say he learned being at the feet of Sven.

    Please no!

I watched him throw away our chance at winning
the 2003 Open Cup by putting that lug out on the field after
it was so obvious he was not worthwhile. A Foreign DP

Any time you look at a club with so many draws, you ask yourself the reason.

Is it because other teams just can't beat them?
Or, is it because they just can't kill off games?

I think Dallas was a good example in 2010 of a club that was destined for the final because they were so good that teams couldn't beat them. But, I would argue that with the roster we have this year, our results have more to do with the fact that we just can't win.

We are in trouble. The club needs something new. Backe is the problem. While I don't think Bradley is the end-all-be-all, I think he's worth a look. He'd probably like to be in NY and he could instill a hard-working attitude.

I was on board with his firing of the US team but think he's proven a good coach many times and is worth a look.

I don't know how it could be worst with Bradley. This team cannot work with the top-heavy roster that has been assembled for MLS that has been exposed again, again, and again at its weak points. I really don't care about losing the stars if the team becomes more well-rounded and WE DON'T HAVE TO START EFFING ROY MILLER

Roy Miller is pretty far down on the list of problems for this team.

    four problems for me:

Trading Da Luz and De Rosario...no depth in midfield.

Overpaying for a guy like Marquez..he is done imo.

    Overspending for a new keeper.

Bringing in 30 year old injury prone players.

This does not make for a good MLS team.

I think Ream needs to be paired with a physical CB. I think there needs to be better midfielders period that are not going to be injured constantly.

This all requires more money though. I don't know RBNY might have to sell someone.

I do not beleieve tainio and Solli can play in hot humid weather. They look like they are wilting in hot games.

You know, that's an interesting point. I was wondering why Tainio, Solli and, to some extent, Lindpere, looked good early in the season but have essentially disappeared since then. Of course weather is just a guess but it would be consistent with what's happened.

Face it, who's played well for us in the last 2-3 months? Henry, Rodgers (most of the time he's in there), Ream (with periodic errors thrown in). Who else? Maybe Lindpere in spurts. How can you win with that kind of team?
