To be honest, his performance last night was not on the same level as the past two. However, he still managed to be decisive -- pass on our only goal, other creative passes for missed chances and even held up the ball brilliantly towards the end of the game.

    Craque! :D

This team may end up being better than the 2009 team. I'm not sure if we are going to win the title, but I sure hope we make it to the Libertadores next year. This team is starting to show signs of being special and Alex Silva hasn't even debuted yet. Let's hope Corinthians starts dropping points.

    What an awesome experience!
I went to Engenhao for the first time in June and saw Mengao vs. Botafogo. I loved it. Very easy to get to; just take Linha Amarela and exit at Engenhao and as soon as you exit, you find parking spots for 20 Reais right near the stadium. I love all of the street camelos in the side of the stadium. Lots of personality.
How long are you staying in Rio?
    I go back in October.

We had a nice little 4 page debate on some thread around here about cheering for rivals' successes. I think it was caused because he was hoping Fluminense would win the Libertadores when they made the finals vs LDU.

Yeah the atmosphere around the stadium before the games is really great.

I came back just yesterday after about 6 weeks in Rio. Already missing it:(

    Fantastic! Corinthians 1-1 against Atlético-PR.

Not only that. São Paulo, Vasco and Palmeiras lost or are losing points. :D

We have a difficult game next weekend though. Figueirense away is not easy.

Vasco and Palmeiras are playing each other too, a draw there would be nice.

EDIT: I just saw now that we are playing Atlético-PR on Wednesday in the Copa Sul-Americana. Hopefully we can rest some players and still grab the win.

Deivid has some serious problems, I don't know what it is...

It's the 3rd damn time he miss in front of goal this season, completely open goal. He was almost standing inside the damn goal and he still missed.

The score was 2-1 for us against Inter last night at Beira Rio and he missed a header like only he knows how to miss. Like 1 or 2 minutes after Internacional scored the equalizer!

If he miss those chances when the score is 5-0, who gives a damn. But when it's such a tight game you can't do that.

Last two games were awful IMO. We needed those 3 points badly in Beira-Rio after the fiasco the game before. There's no excuse blowing a lead to a 10 man side and Deivid put the cherry on top with that miss.

I can only hope we have awoken after this past week and prepare ourselves for a bounce back game vs a Vasco side that has been getting better during the year.

I've been an admirer of Flamengo for many years and the current run of form is troubling... the question i have is why Ronaldinho was allowed to go all the way to London to miss the Bahia match so he could play in some money spending friendly... i mean if it was a world cup qualifier it would have been one thing, but to lose your best player so he can play against Ghana is pretty annoying

Maybe its just me, but in Argentina we always get mad when they pick our players for the national team which is becoming a big waste of tiem, like last season our defender maidana got injured playing a friendly and had to miss a match... something needs to be done

No one was happy about it; However, one of his reasons for coming to Flamengo was the visibility we provide, so that players can get a chance of playing on the National team. One of his goals upon arriving at Flamengo was to get called up again and make the final squad for 2014.

In our 2009 title run, we got screwed over twice with players going down defending their National team in useless friendlies -- Maldonado with Chile and Kleberson (when he was in good form) vs Estonia with Brazil.

To be fair the friendlies weren't completely useless. Maldonado got injured against Slovakia which was a WC team at the time. Right before that Chile was supposed to play powerhouse Germany, but that game was canceled because of a suicide.

Maldonado was hardly ever called up during the qualifiers, so this was his chance to make it into the final team that went to the 2010 WC. Unfortunately his injury was severe.

What an awful string of games. I only listened to the audio, but it sounds as if the defence is absolutamente merda porra! Its also apparant that Dinho needs some help in creating opportunities. The entire offense can't revolve and depend on 1 person.

    in Brazil, fans are hipocrites.

they are always saying their players deserved to be called to the national team, and when the players are picked, they start complaining

i saw plenty of Flamengo fans saying Ronaldinho deserved to be called again, and obviously, they complained when he was finally called.
