    1) Find a back four that can shut down any team, no more early goals period. This is mental focus issue, not a skill one.

    2) Continue the top fitness level that allows us to be so strong at end of game for our comebacks.

    3) Overhaul youth programs to focus on Skill developement like rest of Europe does over playing games.

    4) Our talent is what it is, but I think some players deserve another look or first look then BB gave them.

    1) Agree - but not sure where we are going to find a left back
    2) agree
    3) Unless something has changed - not his job nor his purview
    4) Well, this will happen by nature of getting rid of some of the dead weight. Don't forget BB did bring 111 players in over his five years.

Set the tone for the program from the get-go. "Klinsi" is the new sheriff and you'd better toe the line boys! :p

What I want Klinsi to do ...

    1) DEMAND more quality from each player on EVERY touch, every play, every game.

    2) Stop relying on 30+ year old players. At this point in the cycle it's time for the young, emerging players to feature for the team and leave the 'old-timers' at home.

    3) Get sound defensive fundamentals (cover, shape, balance) in place and send the players that continually 'dive in' home if they don't show discipline and patience. Emphasize creative play and a quick, powerful attacking style.

    4) Create competition for spots and don't play favorites (in the sense that players are played that don't deserve to be on the field due to form/playing time with their clubs)

    5) Don't accept mediocre play by individuals or the team. Call them out (in private), and if their behavior/play/mistakes aren't corrected, call in someone else next time!

    6) Teach our forwards the "value" of an opportunity and to be marksmen!

    7) Reward quality with time on the field.

    8) Run the team like the business it is!

What I want the players to do ...

    1) Be energized that there is a new standard unfolding

    2) Be energized that the slate is blank and it's up to YOU to show that you belong. What you did in the past doesn't matter TODAY.

    3) Klinsi has 'been there, done that' at the highest level. LISTEN to him. LEARN the nuances from him. RESPECT him. LEARN to be a champion from him!

    4) Improve your overall QUALITY individually, as a teammate, as a professional. Work a little extra each day. Be a little more focused for the full 90 minutes. Improve your play on each and every touch. Learn to read the game better. Make better decisions. Improve execution. Be bold. Take risks. IMPOSE yourself on the game!

    5) Raise your play at your club level so that you can get called in. Keep your play level high so you can get called in again!

    6) Make the most of each and every camp -- because you never know when the next opportunity is going to come.

    7) Be proud to represent your country. Put your hand over your heart. Sing the National Anthem.

    8) Know that there are 200 players aching to take your spot. ;)

    GO USA!!!

So basically Klinsi, do not allow our team to concede goals like the one you scored on us in 98.

I wonder if there has ever been a manger in a WC coaching a country that he had scored against in another WC.

    1) Win more games than Bob Bradley, which will be difficult
    2) Bring schnitzel to the mainstream American so I can eat delicious schnitzel

Why set the bar so low? No more early goals? How about no more goals at all!

Dude, you live in TEXAS. Just a few hours drive from El Paso and you should be eating the best schnitzel outside of Germany, period. Jagerschnitzel is my sin.

Furthermore, it would be difficult for him to win more games than Bradley since Bradley had 5 years and Klinsmann will only have 3, and no Confederations Cup. If he wins more games than Bradley, the USA will be a top 10 team after his tenure.

Which reminds me, considering that we don't have the Confederations Cup experience, we really do need the US cup back.

Furthermore- another thing I would like Klinsmann to do is have more Euro games. I liked it when Arena started to play games in Kaiserslautern for US expats, but I wouldn't mind Klinsy using connections to have more US friendlies played in German grounds. (For example, playing teams like Ghana, Tunisia, Nigeria, and Turkey in Germany, etc.) This allows the US to play a bigger variety of opponents and still have access to world-class training facilities.
