Lleglet (7) - Possibly the only player at the club with genuine technique/creativity in the opposition half. Clever player. I have high hopes. The next Andres Iniesta

A genuine tear in my eye reading this.....The eternal reputation of the athletic & fit but unskilled and tactically naive American soccer player in Europe sticks in my craw like a terminal cancer.

He is like a combination of Iniesta, Xavi and Scholes, except without their weaknesses. Let's not put crazy expectations on him though.

    just got back......

Our ball retention has to be a lot better - this has been one of our biggest problems last season. Nouble and Cole did not work up top and you can see the need for a different type of forward to partner a big man.
The second half eventually saw the entire first eleven change apart from Green. Some of the youngsters do look like they have a bit about them - I was impressed with Montano and Lletget. The latter looks like a clever player and very good on the ball.

Montano I believe is Colombian and also Lletgets roommate. He's a year older than Seb. Montano appears to be slightly ahead of Seb and could see time with the 1st team first. Although a lot still depends on future moves etc..

Oh boy. He played well in a lot of space in throwaway minutes of a meaningless game.

Exactly. So why didn't he start against Ghana in 2010?!

Maybe with Bradley getting canned, the time has finally come for that question to be answered.

I think he's the real deal. Tidy on the ball. Promising in distribution.

Would love to see a Holden/Lletget pairing in the center of a 442 provided that Stu can get back to his best. I think Seb has the potential to be our best two-way CM since, well...Holden.

    That's not going to happen.

I do hope the 2014 is Holden's cycle and chance to run team at WC.
He deserves it, given all the crap he's gone through. Seb will have plenty of time after that.

It might be unlikely, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility. If Lletget breaks into West Ham's first team and West Ham gets promoted between now and the 2013-2014 season then he'll certainly be in the mix.

It's not as though we're stocked with quality talent. Who do we have at CM? A mediocre Bradley. A mediocre Edu. And a 29 year old Jones. I don't think many people were pleased with how this unit played at the GC. So shouldn't we be looking at players who could supplant the veterans? I think so.

Bob has done a decent job of bringing new players into the fold and I hope the new coach will be willing to take chances on some of our younger players who look like potential difference makers (Gyau, Gatt, Lletget).

Obviously a lot can happen between now and Brazil.

unfortuneatly with recent pick ups and parker possibly staying, along with noble and collison, the middle is pretty crowded. doubt lletget sees much time this year, but given WH's run of injuries the past few years...who knows?

Parker staying at WH would be mind-boggling. Has an EPL Player of the Year ever spent his next season in a second-tier league?

Based on a quick glance it doesn't look like a player for a relegated team has won the FWAFOTY award before.

True... unlikely as it might be, that's not the only way for a player to end up in a second-tier league. Bellamy had a pretty decent year before he went to Cardiff, but obviously not nearly POTY worthy.

What are the chances he sees any first team time? I know he is highly regarded in his peer group.

I would venture to guess that if he does it would be towards the end of the season. He could go out on loan, but for now he is on the outside of breaking into the 1st team, hopefully his first year of being healthy will help his cause

Would be surprised if LLetget didn't start and not surprised about the squad number news

    found on kumb "
An enjoyable 2-2 in the end with both our strikes great finishes. We probably shaded it and they're keeper played well despite being in a similar weight class to the pillsbury dough boy. Hall looks a great player for the future, Lee in the middle a decent player. Lleget again looks a Good prospect Wasn't convinced by our keeper but there was hint of a foul for their leveller.

They had a strong front line and caused us a few problems especially in the first half but our defence put in a few heroic blocks. We played some old stuff in patches including a great move in the second half where halls ballooned finish didn't do the move justice. Top top class strikes from both hall and vose. "

Most of the posters on this site generally speak well of Seb

What is Big Sam's history in giving young talents a shot?

I have to wonder if he is not hell-bent in getting West Ham back to Premiership based on experienced players first. Also, you've got
the move to the new stadium. I wonder if that sort of pressure +
(perhaps) Big Sam's history might mean Seb needs to look at a
strong loan for next 1-2 years instead.

I know West Ham has famously graduated players to 1st team in past,
but just wondering if that is still the philosophy.
