Revs fans, I have been a fan since day one and I have to say that this is the worst team we have ever fielded. Even in the bad days in the 90's we could still score a goal or two, but now nothing! There is not one aspect of this team that is even remotely attractive.
It is not a question of who to get rid of, but who would you possibly want to keep? I can think of only two; Reis and Shalrie. The others could all leave and I don't thnk it would be a loss. Feilhaber has been a bust and Lekic has been a total bust. The season is a total loss, 2012 is the only hope we have.

Feilhaber does not want to play on this team. Guarantee he won't be around next season.

I stopped truly caring last season. No need to waste my time and money on this garbage. I still follow and the team, but there is no way I'm spending my $$ on this trash anymore. I've dropped over $30k in extra tickets on the Revs over the years, and they managed to turn me off as a fan. Well done fellas, well done.

I'm with you. I've been going to games since day one and rarely missed one. This year I dropped my season ticket and haven't been to a game yet. I don't plan on returning until significant changes are made (starting with Nicol). Quite honestly, I don't miss going as much as I thought I would so it hasn't been hard to stay away. I usually just DVR the games and watch them the next morning, which also gives my back my Saturday nights.

Maybe, maybe not. But at least they were fun. This team has the stench of death.

Yeah, add me to the list. They aren't doing anything right as a franchise or a team. I could go on a big rant about all the things that are wrong, but anyone who pays attention knows already. I'm just not going to drive 2.5 hours each way and spend money to watch this product anymore.

In less than a year I went from 15 year season ticket holder to probably not even going to watch on TV anymore. The only reason I watched tonight was to see/hear the protest. I'm done. Time for a new team.

    I hear ya.

I just don't know what else to do as a fan. Driving down there and paying money for tickets, concessions, etc. just seems like a validation of what they're doing. I can't do it in good conscience any more. Especially when NOTHING EVER CHANGES.

Toronto is two points ahead of us in the standings, and they've managed to make one move after another. Sure, some of it could be rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but at least they're accomplishing something.

We had a six pack the first year and season tickets ever since. Every year the Revs pull it together and show some promise during the last couple of months of the season and we get sucked into renewing. I don't see it happening this year.

That's the thing. I'd feel much better about the team if they tried major changes that didn't work out. That's the worst part - they don't even try. If they don't care, why should I?

Well, devil's advocate might argue they did try to blow up last year's revs to some degree, by bringing in Dabo, Domi, Lekic, Corria and Benny. They played 2 draftees tonight in Soares and McCarthy. They just lack any type of bite in the attacking third which has been the same damn problem the past 3 years.

    Twellman's injury killed this franchise.

The current Revs are much better than the 90's Revs when compared against each other, but the current Revs are aboslutley horrible when compared to the rest of MLS 2011. The early Revs' teams were terrible, but in relation to the rest of MLS at that time they at least had a chance to get the occasional win.

No, the decline started before TnT's injury. His was definitely another nail in the coffin. When Dempsey left for England, we never had an adequate attacking midfielder as a replacement. Pile on the other losses (Mariner, Larentowicz, Heaps, Twellman, etc.) and we just seem unable to attract and keep the quality of players we once had.

There was one very telling statistic tonight. No shots on goal in the FIRST HALF.

    ::SIGH:::

Agreed... spelling it out you must mention: Parkhurst, Noonan, Dempsey, Dorman and a host of players who are still in the league with other teams... some of whom were released or unprotects and some of whom were traded for a bag of magic beans...

No, I'd say the failure to replace quality with quality is what killed the franchise including, but not limited to, TT. Central midfield has never been the same since Red left. Phelan isn't the same class. I don't think McCarthy is either but he deserves more time. They've had no attacking bite or creativity since Dempsey and Cancela left and Rally retired and yes TT. Noonan and Dorman also made very important contributions that have not been replaced even partially. The only decent player they've brought in to fill that void has been Perovic and now they're getting rid of him.

That's the point. MLS has improved significantly. The Revs have not. I think SN's player acquisition skills were great for an MLS 2.0 but not for an MLS 3.0. He collecteda good core and then made only minor tweaks from year to year. Their strength was not just in (relative) quality but in continuity. Since the end of 2008, a major overhaul has been needed and as much as I respect the success he brought to the club, I'm afraid I don't think he's the man to do it. Success created expectations that we actually be not awful, expectations that haven't been met for several years.

    I'm a Rev fan--period.
When things are going well I'm a Ref fan
When things are going horrid I'm a Rev fan
    I'm a Rev fan--period

FWIW, as bad as this team is playing I think it would beat most of the teams we fielded in the 90's. MLS has come a long way.

The Revs were a powerhouse between 2003-2008. Since then we have steadily lost talent and the replacements have either been inadequate or outright failures. Is this just a run of bad luck? I think not. Other than the draft there has been a serious breakdown in how the Revs select players. It's hard to point at a single person responsible for this failure but one thing is for sure--the Revs need to make some changes as to how they do business.

That being said, I'm still a Rev fan and I will still follow their every move, cheer for them every game and not abandon them when they are going through a rough patch. It's just that simple. I'm a Rev fan--period.

The past 2 years, we've set or tied franchise records for fewest amounts of goals in a season. We've been told acquiring attacking players is a priority. Hlafway through the 2011 season we have a game like this:
ZERO (0) Shots in the first half, either on net or Khano-esque.
ZERO (0) Shots on net in the entire game

The Revs were a quality MLS team from 2004 to 2006. They were a powerhouse team for the first two months of the 2005 season. They may have made it to 4 MLS Cup Finals but they only deserved to be there once or maybe twice.

I still love the team, and always will, though sometimes I wonder why I bother with sports at all considering how poorly my teams have been performing. There are lots of negative qualities associated with blind loyalty.

2004? The year the finished tied for the worst record and got into the playoffs on a tiebreaker?

2008? A powerhouse does not get in the playoffs on the last day with a miracle

The question isn't whether this team would beat the teams from the 90's. It is a question of how good/bad they are in comparison to the rest of the league. This team is likely the worst Revs team within the context of the respective season they have played in.

For years I was a die-hard Revs fan. Through good, bad and ugly. I can deal with losing. I can deal with disappointment. What I cannot deal with is organizational apathy, and hostility towards it's fans. The franchise has driven me away, not the play on the field.

With that being said, I will still probably casually follow the Revs. I won't, in the current state, be as passionate about them as I've been in the past, but I will always be a "fan." I just can't, in good conscience, give money to a franchise that seems to do very little to improve it's product.
