Bench Ganso & Andre Santos, if there was someone better then Fred, bench pato also but dont think they have a choice. I think this will be a very very tough game.

Why the f is Kaka playing in a friendly vs LA Galaxy, he should be with the NT. Stupid selection methods.

He pulled out of the 2007 edition saying he needed to rest - a disgrace (Ronaldinho Gaucho did the same). This time it is understandable.......ish. His season having been fractured with injuries.

Is it just me or has anyone else here noticed what a waste it has been to call up Lucas Moura up for this tournament?

Neymar I could understand because he's a surefire starter.....but I think it would've been better served to have Lucas at the U-20 WC instead leading the team and gaining more experience instead of playing sparingly in the Copa. And I'm not sure what his role/position really is with the senior Selecao so far in his career.

Maybe it would've been the right call if the U-20s weren't taking place this month.

Disagree. It was a good idea - you need to give the young players a taste of what tournament football is about when with the senior team - the attention/scrutiny you are under and pressure. He will be better for this experience (and he has played in the last 6 games).

I could understand with Ronaldo in 1994 and Kaka in 2002 being on the squads despite not featuring.....they weren't depriving any other level of the Selecao from not being there because no other tournaments took place at the same time. Aguero of Argentina was excluded from the senior NT in 2007 (not that he'd have made a difference in the Copa Finals that year:D) and instead was the best player at the U-20 WC.

There's the Confederations Cup, not to mention the 2012 Olympics for Lucas Moura to play for the senior team prior to 2014.

    Lets just agree to disagree.

    So who he is depriving?

PS - Kaka did play a few minutes in 2002.

i dont really think he is depriving anyone really. maybe willian or douglas costa, but those guys are just as unproven at the national team level. it's true, they've at least played in champions league, but i think this will be a great learning experience for lucas moura. he's training with players he will be paying with regularly for the next 3 years -- olympics, confed cup, and likely, the world cup. seems alright to me.

This field sucks. Why is there so much sand on pitch ? I tell you ... the organization of this Copa America leaves a lot to be desired.

Good to see a full back attacking and coming right back 70 yards to defend.

And then he's hugging Robinho and shrugging it off like whatever, it would've been nice to score. Come on.

Andre Santos is awful. My god, one of the worst leftbacks I've seen ever. He tries to glorify himself rather than making an easy cross to Pato for an easy goal.

I agree, but at least he has been solid defensively. He isn't letting that Paraguayan on the left do what he wants with the ball like he did to Daniel Alves..
