I remeber Hedvig Lindahl writing a peace about Abby in her column on her website last year.
When Marta was elected for the 5th time in a row world player of the year.
She was asking or there where no other players who would deserve this trophey a time.
She said that Abby would definaltly deserve it oncde in her career.
and she asked to readers what they tought.

It's a tournament, it is about WINNING. I don't care how they play and I assume that ALL USA fans don't care how you win.......just win baby!
I would be PO'd if the US lost but played "beautiful" football.

Nope, do you have the link to it? People need to let her know it's ok. After the own ball, she played real shaky with no confidence the whole match, but was able to make the right choices. She was the least confident player on the field at penalties. he should looked her off. if it went to 10, then she gets her chance but by than hope would have put it away.

the backlash should be on Lima, just like it was on Dunga. Both are clowns.

and yes, hope the pretty, stylish playing football girls of France have their day on Wednesday, but as many, feel the road stops with the USA.

there are users saying control the ball at their feet vs the usa. if england forced them into their game, no way they get out of playing a physical game against the usa. they would need a game like brasil in 2007 but this usa squad is much more forceful and physical.

Nope, I haven't seen anything. Perhaps, if marctol is lurking around, he can feed us some information.

Yes, Lima is indeed a clown.

If you had an opportunity to stay with the US broadcast, you would have seen the two teams shake hands, with several of the Brazil players adding hugs to their american WPS teammates.

Some comments on the day after.

    Still high!
Something was up with Marta. She didn't have a good tourny. Agreed that I hope she shows up well in 4 years.
I really feel for Dai. Really. I hope she is able to come back okay.
I think Sweden is the fav now.
That was a horrible, horrible, officiating match. All around, not just in the center.
The men proved fitness matters in 2002. The women proved fitness matters in 2011. I expect the next tourny will have better conditioned teams.
I fear France could pull and upset unless the US turns it into another ugly game.
    HOPE SOLO!!!
    Still high! :D

Marta needs an actual Team to play with not a Bunch. Same thing going on with Messi and Argentina right now at Copa America.

Add to that a decent manager and better preparation.

Maybe USA develops a passing game like Japan before Wednesday. 48 hrs left.

I know she is #1 in the world, but I thought Marta was astounding yesterday. The way she dinked it over those DFs was a move that no-one else can make. And she was total dynamo everywhere else.

Marta got too frustrated yesterday; just what her detractors wanted. That's unfortunate but she's still young and can learn from this. But I agree with your assessment; the girl has amazing skills on the ball that few players can emulate.

Well I guess the movie got it wrong then.

And if Japan and the USA reach the final, should we do a pre-emptive strike ?

Her touch on the second goal was my favorite. I truly enjoy watching her play. When she matures emotionally she will be even better.

Sure you can. It depends on a lot more than distance. The number of defenders in the area and the degree of control the attacker has over the ball are two factors.

Just for one example, imagine if Rampone had pulled Marta down just about anywhere on their long sprint together. That would almost certainly have been a DOGSO and a red card no matter where she did it.

The rule was different then. You couldn't move at all, and it was so unreasonable it was NEVER enforced. Both keepers moved every take.

Some say that cup changed the rule.

I call BS. Name one single German broadcaster that wasn't being a homer for the German team during the WC 2006. Just one. I lived in during 2006, and am fluent in German. I doubt you understood a word of what they were saying... c'mon, you can admit that you're talking out your ass, you'll probably even get rep for manning (or "womanning", as the case may be) up

So from that translation article it appears that Wambach is the womens version of Didier Drogba? At least that's the gist from the comments.
