Tzorvas or Chalkias will cut it. I think Tzorvas is better, but they're both beyond MLS quality.

Shocked nobody picked up Brad Knighton when he was waived by Philly. He's not going to be getting NT caps anytime soon, but he works for peanuts and puts in solid shifts. With D-ro gone you have cap room so Brad might not be the best pick for you guys, but he is certainly better than some of the suggestions being tossed around

At this point, you wonder what Horwath has been like in training that he hasn't been put into this rotation.

Exactly... The coaches see him all the time so they have a good feel for where he's at right now.

Soler said in that interview that they are absolutely looking for a keeper and looking at the entire market for one. Money is obviously a concern however and that limits the team significantly.

There has to be someone out there who can bring more than what we've been getting with Sutton and Bouna. I'd still take Bouna first because he's the only one with any chance of putting together a great game. Even capable of winning one for you when he's completely on.

Soler said "As I understand, Hahnemann is on his way to Seattle." This is Schmid's response:

""It amazes me how people don't know the rules of this league. OK, Marcus is a returning national-team player. So as a returning national-team player he has to go through allocation. So if you look at the allocation list, I think Chivas is No. 1 on it and I think we're No. 8. [Ed note: I believe the Sounders are No. 7, but it doesn't change his point] If you tell me all the other seven teams are going to pass on him, then I would say, 'Yeah, Marcus Hahnemann is coming to Seattle.' But I don't think the other seven teams are going to pass.

You look at what D.C. United did to get (Troy) Perkins, where all of a sudden they thought they had an agreement and Perkins was going to go to D.C., and then Philadelphia said, 'Oh, we'll take him. Let's work out a trade.' They ended up having to give up allocation money, a first-round pick and a player. I think if you asked D.C. if they had to do it over again, would they do it? They would probably say no. Obviously when (Kasey) Keller came back we were No. 1 on the allocation list so it was an easy thing. For us, we would love to have Marcus. We would love to have him play in his hometown. I think he would love to play in his hometown. But the rules right now don't allow it."

Think we can trade away one of Bouna or Sutton or Ballouchy or anyone for that matter to Chivas for the top spot? I'll be honest in not knowing much about Chivas.

That it is why I say that is mystery, because Horwath play a excellent game for us the last time, now Backe don't want to give him another chance, a very weirdo thing if we stop and analyse the thing, because what ever can happen if Horwarth play never will be worst than what Sutton and Buona are doing for the team....

I'm fairly certain that Soler understands the league... Schmid is just pissed that Soler is ruining his cover. Soler probably has knowledge of an impending deal between Seattle and a team further up the list. Or Soler knows that the other teams are going to pass on him.

This is the same manager that continues to play Ballouchy over da Luz, and even benched da Luz the week after he scored.

Well you can understand the hesitance in starting Horwath seeing as he is a 3rd stringer who has almost no experience playing behind two veterans. There is a reason he is a 3rd stringer.

Can't we just release Condul? I think he's making 175K, you could probably pick up that goalie from Panama with that money. ;)

    Which goalie?

    - the one playing for Municipal in Guatemala (Penedo)
    - the up&comer playing for Toulousse in France (Mejia, also the under-20 GK)

or the under 20 backup, Melgar
or the under 17 GK, Picart.....

***Mejia would be nice** look him up.. Luis "manotas" mejia ..(started with Fenix in uruguay,,then loaned to toulousse)

I watched this guy in the Gold Cup and he is pretty good, doesn't do anything stupid. He could actually work out with NYRB and he probably won't demand a hefty salary like one of these out of contract EPL guys.

Consider this: Horvath, with a reserve defense in front of him and a mostly backup lineup on the field, shutout a Columbus Crew starting XI. Answer: yes

    I'd say Penedo.

I say get Danny Cepero out of retirement and on the field again.

Did he not serve as the back up keeper early this year or late last year when both Bouna and Sutton were out?

Cepero was a back up in a game last year.

Cepero is a textbook example of a flash in the pan.

At least for once now we get a solid goalkeeping performance. Sutton earned himself another start but nothing more. I still think they need to go out and get a new gk.

She can put her ass anywhere she wants it.

On a real note, Sebastian Frey isn't garnering very much interest in Europe ... would be available on a serious knock down or possibly a free, but is coming off injury.
