A bit high for Mexico. They have a good team, but in front of Argintina?, They always have thier number. The U.S we are lucky not to be around #35. Look at Norway, I hope Diskerud is not.

Joke ... at least the England part.

Mexico might be artificially inflated at the moment, but even that isn't so bad. They're as hot/hotter than any NT in the world right now. Us being #24 is about right. We're not any worse than a top 25 team in the world as it stands. Partly due to what we've done in the not so distant past, and also due to the fact that the other clubs that hover in this area of the rankings haven't exactly done anything.

Mexico looks great. USA isn't badly done. I remember the same talk back when USA went into Top Ten and USA earned alot of it. Came off a 12 or 14 match unbeaten streak. some real nice Hex's and Gold Cup placements. So it is what the last man standing brings, higher recognitions. Which is what most american sports relates with a system of similarity. USA can see fluxation if it finishes out the year and remains a contender into Pre-qualification rounds. That is the biggest focus for USA. Mexico has alot on its plate and rarely seems to flutter kick into a cannon ball. So I imagine Mexico could be Top Ten for at least 3 years or with minimal fall. Thats a long time if its not earned...

The way Mexico's playing, the 8-12 range seems appropriate for them right now.

Does it matter to the US right now what our FIFA ranking is?

I think we have bigger problems at the moment.

The FIFA ranking to us MIGHT help IF we were going to the next CC (which we are not) and were pushing for a WC2014 seed position by doing well in both.

That looks pretty unlikely right now and we all know what being seeded might mean to us.

I think Mexico is around 12-15. Good Gold Cup. If Mexico really wants to see where they are at then they need to send thier A team to Copa America, but I understand why they would not.I Also think the England ranking is a joke. also around 14-18.

We're behind Slovenia but ahead of Ghana. The FIFA rankings are always good for a chuckle.

Right about now, Panama is really wishing that the seeding for CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying was based on these rankings, while Cuba is very happy that they were not.

And yet while Fifa Rankings are a farce USSF still may not admit that this is a team in decline. 11 places in a year.

Hey troll, those 9 players banned for illegal substance abuse. Were those the only ones? or were those the only ones that got caught?

FIFA rankings are as corrupt as the entire organization itself.

Doesn't matter what we are ranked right now. But that England ranking is a joke. Waaaaayyyyy too high. But I think we are about right and Mexico should be behind Argentina but definitely a top 12 team.

Yes even elements which we aren't aware. Back in the early 90's when the World Cup was on TNT. The telecasters stated that. FIFA mandates a certain amount of matches each year. Benifitial outcomes for more matches than minimal. And it did state even if a team isn't eligible under normal circumstances. That if this team wins a place in the World Cup it can go in as a write-in. Just like Guateloupe. Also there seem to be less competetions. Like the Saudi Kings Cup (or whatever the proper 2 tournament title was. I just can't remember but looked at it a couple days ago on wiki) which is now the Conferderation Cup. Plus! It laid the ground work for the ratings or ranks. Back then it was like once a quater instead of monthly. And said if 2 teams agree to not use the results for rating or ranking. That outcome can be left out. I'm not for sure if it deems every FIFA date as a A Team or B team status. But you can see were some of it comes from a long time ago, hence 10 to 12 matches up to 15+ per year. There is a difference now adays. I used to have to wait for months before a national match. Well I hope that helps...
And Mexico can't technacally win the Copa America. It can win the tournament but on paper those championships revert back to the highest placed Conferederation team. So even if 2 outsiders make the finals, The third or fourth place team would get the crown or recognitition, in which the Confederation desearves. Highly unlikely and its still hasn't been done like that...

    What are you talking about?

I was pointing out that he was calling his own team trash, I am not a Tri fan.

how do you corrupt a computer? Feed it extra silicon? Play with the screen resolution? Maybe turn the screen light down and play Barry White?

Those are fair rankings, considering how well Mexico has done, versus how poorly the US has done since the WC.

I'm not going to pretend they don't deserve it just because they're Mexicans. :D

They will drop from the top 10 after Copa America, I believe. But, only because of the problems with their "B" team players getting the boot for buying hookers.
They could possibly go 3 and out, which I think might be the first time, but, I'm not a Mexican fan so who knows?

Mexico is up pretty high but assuming Mexico bombs out of Copa America it should go down.

I would expect them to hang around #10-15 for the next 4 four years.
