Anyone else here playing this graphic adventure game (available for Windows, Mac, PlayStation 3 and iPad)? The story begins about seven months after the end of the third movie and the whole game is played over five "episodes", each episode having been released monthly. The fourth episode has just recently been released with the fifth and final episode due later this month. I'm currently partway into the first episode. It's pretty good so far. -G
The irony here is that 1985 (the "present time" in the Back to the Future trilogy) is just as much ancient history to all you young folk as 1955 was to Marty McFly. And 2015 (the future setting in the second movie) is now only four years away. -G
Indeed. Strangely, though, there didn't appear to be any 16:9 HDTV's in the 2015 McFly household in the second movie. -G
I'm playing it and waiting for the final episode. The story and voice acting is excellent but the gameplay? Less so.
I just finished Episode 4 and am also waiting for the final episode. The gameplay takes some getting used to for those not used to the adventure gaming genre (I remember back when this was one of the most popular gaming genres - damn, I'm old!), but the story and voice acting are indeed excellent. Bob Gale (producer and co-writer of the film trilogy) consulted with the game designers and it definitely shows (in a positive way)! Speaking of the voice acting, guess who'll be making a voice cameo in Episode 5: [[result]Michael J. Fox himself, though not as Marty McFly as that's been voiced throughout the game by A.J. LoCascio.[/result]] -G
Did you play the Sam & Max series? Is it similar? I played them a few months ago and this caught my eye since it's the same developer.
oh I'm a HUGE fan of adventure games, monkey Island, Full Throttle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis are some of my favourite games. But Back to the Future does absolutely nothing for the genre. Even Sam and Max had those awesome psychic toys in their third season for some ingenious puzzles but BttF? Nothing new or interesting in the puzzles.
Just one more day to go until PS3 owners can finally download and play the fifth and final episode on Tuesday, July 26th. -G
