Seriously. If he really truly cared about his team and country he would take responsibility and just quit already. He should know more than anyone that his system just does not work and will NOT work to take us to the next level. He needs to be a man and step down already. The fact that he is still coaching our team after all this time with absolutely no improvement is outrageously disgraceful in every way. He shouldn't wait to be sacked. He needs to grow a pair and relieve himself from duty.
Yeah, I felt that if he won the GC, he should fall on his sword. It wont get any better or easier from here on out and this way he goes out to applause rather than acrimony. He doesnt deserve to be spit on, but how exactly do you honorably discharge an honorable guy who feels honor bound to keep coaching until the bitter end?
I have been thinking about this even when Arena was there twice, it doesn't work going on the cheap. It is all a big delay on getting the US to the top level of National Teams. It appears as if they still look for their great "miracle on ice" sort of a deal, they want to captivate the big audience with a big noise, and it doesn't work that way, not for soccer and less than all in America.
the more important question is: why do we need 99 threads to slam Bob? Why not post in one of the other threads. That is a much deeper question. In fact I might just make a new thread wondering why posters need so many threads about Bob. Is this a new religion? A cult? Is it like Jonestown? Or more staying power, like Ba'hai? So many questions and only 2 1/2 years to answer them.
Who do you think is really paying attention to this stuff? You guys start these threads when Bob wins. Bob wouldn't have been my choice either, but this thread is repetitive and silly.
Nice articles here http://insider.espn.go.com/sports/soccer/blog?name=us_national_soccer&id=6653972&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fsports%2fsoccer%2fblog%3fname%3dus_national_soccer%26id%3d6653972 http://www.philly.com/philly/columnists/john_smallwood/123722024.html http://www.socceramerica.com/article/42534/if-this-is-bradleys-best-its-time-for-him-to-go.html
So the question becomes very much like the Miami Heat in game 6 last night, do the players rally to avoid their own embarrassment, or do they crack under the pressure - of playing Guadeloupe? ; ) Seriously there is real pressure since a loss to Guadeloupe - or even a tie - leaves the team and the coach a laughingstock. Since I haven;t hear of the equivalent to Dirk Nowitzki playing for Guageloupe. This is not what sponsors or USSF had in mind. But I expect team to do fine, and BB to be saved for another day......presuming US wins or at the least makes finals. 3 more mediocre years and a fast exit from Brazil here we come.
In what situation would the US losing to Guadeloupe losing (at home) not leave the team and coach a laughingstock?
Unfortunately, I think the only thing that's going to get Bradley fired is a complete debacle in the World Cup which, if he is the coach come June 2014, I believe will happen. I don't know what the clowns running the USSF are waiting for, isn't it obvious that the team quit on him. Any other federation would have made a change months ago, but nope, the USSF only likes making changes AFTER it's too late.
guadalupe has improved a lot, have you seen them played? why cant we just accept that everybody in concacaf is improving so much?
