It has to be Garcia, seeing as it's derogatory and he most likely has no beef with any other trialists. The second I read the tweet, I knew it was Garcia. Guess he's traveling.
If it is Garcia, just stupid. Vermes do you want to be fired. I have lost all confidence in his ability to lead this team. I don't care if it is just for depth, what kind of message does this send to the rest of the team, let alone Kei Kamara. What a joke.
eh... i'm not bothered by it yet. kei needs to worry about himself right now. he was awful last game.
Vermes shouldn't have started him, I know he wanted to play in the opener, but he looked gassed from playing 90 minutes half a world away and traveling back here.
Kamara said something similar in the press conf. I'm not worried about his form at all .... merely that he will be complete exhausted tomorrow as well probably...
Yeah, don't really even know why we need Garcia right now. Collin and Besler are gelling very well, I seriously doubt that he's going to start over either one of them. I don't particularly like Cesar and Thomas as fall backs, but Garcia really isn't much of an improvement over either of them either.
We've shown to be pretty deep at the two wingback positions. And the thought of Garcia on the wing kind of scares me.
me too, but neither you nor i are in charge. theonewhoshouldbefiredformakingthesetypesofdecisions is.
The only advantage of Garcia over Thomas is that he'd free up a foreign player slot. If Shavar has residency or citizenship, then it's basically a wash at this point of both of their careers. I would have no problem with a "sign and retire as a Kansas City player" publicity stunt. As bad as he's been for San Jose and Toronto, Nick is one of our all-time greats.
Shavar doesn't take up a slot. Don't believe he has citizenship, but I know he at least has a green card.
So there are rumors that Atlas is interested in Ryan Smith. http://www.laaficion.com/noticias/77061-atlas-contrata-al-uruguayo-gast-n-puerari
Rumor on Twitter says it may even be a done deal. I don't believe one second of it. Part of the overall team plan and we're not gonna give our top playmaker up, no chance.
Here are segments from the article about Ryan Smith (poorly translated through Google Translate): ... Prior to the trip to Manzanillo, Atlas coach Ruben Omar Romano, disclosed the hiring of Uruguayan striker Gaston Puerari, who played the last tournament in the Chicago Fire of MLS, as well as the addition of midfielder Ryan Smith, from the Kansas City, who will be tested in the coming days the team ... ... The English case of Ryan Smith, who made his debut for Arsenal and played in several sets of the Premier League, Romano said he is in great condition, however will be tested to see if it occupies the place of Michael Ortega. "There will come a player to test and according to what you see and what the team needs to take the decision. He was playing in the U.S. with Omar Bravo in Kansas City is a driving left-handed. He was giving him up for a year, comes from a quarry very important for Arsenal, so I want to see him work, has many conditions, but the decision will therefore see these weeks. " Both players will join the preseason red and black in Manzanillo, Colima, next weekend ...
Well, unless he doesn't want to be here, in which case I would rather let him go. I look at it this way - he has been injured quite a few times already, it does us no good to make him a large part of the team if we can never figure if he'll actually play in the next match. I also think that perhaps MLS isn't suited for him since refs let the opposition hack the crap out of him and do little about it. I wouldn't be happy to see him go by any means, but, especially depending on what comes out if it happens, I could probably understand it.
Kei Kamara tweeted that Smith and Rocastle both dumped Twitter...Smith because it was taking too much time. Wait until they start having to scan a barcode to check in and out of the Livestrong pitch during match substitutions.
I see this as plausible. Wonderful when he is on the field, but often injured. Taking up a chunk of salary space, and a foreign spot. He isn't going to get minutes if he doesn't get healthy enough to compete for a spot, let alone win that spot.
Genius! Let's make sure the refs need a card to get in as well.... the FO could just keep 'forgetting' to associate some of their accounts. No more Kennedy. Ahh... we can dream. Seriously, I think the big issue with Smith is that we need him healthy, and we need him where he belongs, in the left wing of the *midfield*. Not as as a forward who stands in acres of space in the left corner, twiddling his thumbs and waiting to be noticed by everyone else in the tunnel-visioned ram it up the center 4-3-3 that we seem to be stuck with. I would have loved to have seen Smith healthy and playing in Dallas, in the more or less 4-5-1 that was used there.
I have noticed PV playing Kamara more centrally (on top) of late. It looks like the rw experiment is slowly coming to an end. That said, what are the chances that the team trades of of their forwards?
