Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 I believe they showed it during the pregame show or halftime, maybe both. All I know is that they showed it at least once last night.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 They showed it at half time, cause it was in the replay today. But yeah I don't believe it's a real commercial.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Looks real to me....unless you're thinking some sort of mass hypnosis?
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 I think it's mainly a cutesy little short film to get us pumped up for the home game and everything. I like it, glad they did it.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 The LSP pull-out section in yesterday's Star was really well done. Lots of good information for anybody who hasn't been in the loop on everything that makes this place special. I even learned a few things I didn't know before. It just gets me that much more excited about Thursday.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 agreed. i was pleased to see it, considering the stuff that they did for the truman sports complex renovations... you know, treating it like a major project for the city.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 It's my understanding that there will be a nice front page feature story in the 6/9 edition of the Star.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 A clip from the KCTV5 website, according to this article is says the game is already sold-out for Thursday, but according to ticket master you can still get tickets. http://www.kctv5.com/sportingkc/28154098/detail.html
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Yeah they will announce it as a sell out even though it is unlikely to be. I just did a search on ticketmaster for 25 seats and it put me in the south stand.....
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Saw Vermes giving a live interview on NBC channel 13 this morning. Probably around 6:30 - 6:45 a.m. He needs to work on his enthusiasm, it's morning news, lighten up and smile. You are supposed to be selling tickets.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 The article on the website is wrong. They've been saying it correctly all morning on the air. There are a limited number of tickets still available.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Aren't there always a limited number of tickets available outside of a sellout? Sorry, it always cracks me up when that phrase is used for events when there arent many tickets left. There is always a limit to tickets even when a single one hasnt been sold yet. I do find it concerning that it is taking damn near till the day of the event to sell this thing out. I figured it would have sold out pretty quickly.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 And my understanding is that "sellout" doesn't actually mean what the general public thinks it means either.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 It is generally a certain percentage of tickets sold, not that they all sold. I know some venues do not expect certain sections to sellout. For example, we may not sell all Shield Club seats so 70% may be considered a "sell-out".
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 The Shield Club, however, is apparently actually sold out for the season. Now, I'm more concerned about things like this screenshot I *just* took:
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Yup, I played around with that this morning. Hopefully we don't get embarrassed by a quarter empty stadium.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Is is just me or is anyone annoyed that MLS is giving us no love for the Stadium opener?
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 I remember when RSL got their stadium they had video of a walk through. They had updates of final touches. They had pretty good one on ones with the players and owners. Stuff like that. I know that we have that type of stuff on our website, but it seems to never make it on MLSnet. I just don't feel like we are getting the pimp job that RSL, RBA, Portland, Philly got when their stadiums were getting built. IMO... it just shows the lack of interest that the MLS has to our team, even though we will have one of if not the best SSS in TWO nations.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 You're talking about MLSnet. The website is horrible. I go on there, check the scores, check the standings, check the stats section and leave. I might spend 10 minutes on that site a week. It's crap and the coverage is crap so I wouldnt expect anything less than crap.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Probably because RSL produced those things. I have put up a billion pictures of this stadium and they have been linked via the MLS website and tweeted, they have seemed quite willing and eager to push the stadium however they can but they are not going to come down here and film and take pictures for us. The team have produced very little of that themselves. I don't think your opinion is really founded in fact, more perception. @MLS_Insider has gotten me some massive traffic hauls. Hell looking at the summaries this morning they linked to at least three Sporting/LIVESTRONG stories. We have been front and center a few time on the main site as well.
