I'll do the DC United v Everton and Ajax games, cause it involves DC United. But the other ticket I have in my season ticket package for Man United v Barca I have no interest in going to.

Two observations: 1. I'm proud of you for not going to that game and 2.) impressed that the DC United ticketing/front office put that game as part of the season package.

Hilarious. I've been studying Chinese semi seriously for 14 years, and probably would do no better. Is that Gibbs going second? He tries to say thank you for supporting Arsenal, but the subtitles render it as "Thank you eat eat Arsenal".

Sceszny (CCC-ni) really has star power. I predict that after retiring he becomes the next Arnold.

That video is hilarious...DJ trips me up. Glad to see we are finally moving into the new age of football business. Honestly, this kind of thing is a win-win for everyone. I know many argue that the low-key Austrian training is better, but we've done little it the last few seasons and our competitors have been taking the checks and getting results too. Our fanbase is global and this is an opportunity to satisfy their demand for exposure while giving them an opportunity to support the club with their wallets.

As for if this is good for local clubs, I think it is. For me, one of the best MLS games is when the all-stars play some big club from Europe. The players really get up for it and it's exciting atmosphere. I'm not a huge fan of MLS, but everytime I get a little pride and really cheer on the MLS squad. If the local team puts up a good fight, the fans feel that their money is good value since the team can be seen as almost competitive with a top club. If the big team loses, it's just a warmup game and means little.

I was more than a little disappointed to read today in the New york Times that Man. U. will play a friendly at Red Bull Arena home of ARSENALS leading goal scorer of all time and a hell of a nice guy, Mr. Henry. Could he take that as a bit of a slap in the face?? I would really some day like to see ARSENAL coordinate a state side summer visit (say like Red Bull Arena, home of T.H.) Seems like a no brainer. Play the Colorado Rapids, our sister US team. It's not rocket science, is it?

I think the China game is in Hangzhou, not Shanghai. While they are close it's about a 2 hour drive from Shanghai or a one hour train (kind of like NY to Philly).

I will like attend to the game in China (for those who do not know, I am now living in Hong Kong). Generally this would be a no-brainer, I'm there, it's just that it falls about 48 hours after I return from a trip to the USA so I'm not entirely sure what time zone I'll be operating on and what condition I'll be in. I'll be sorting it out in the next week or two.

Nevertheless if you are thinking of going, feel free to drop me a line and maybe we can meet up.

Aha, sounds exciting! No I didn't know, but I guess it explains why we haven't seen you posting much this year.

So forget about the jet lag and go enjoy the match!

So with the club going to Asia, are we officially not playing Barnet this pre-season, or has it just not been announced yet? I'm not sure i could handle a pre-season without that game as the marker of a new campaign.

we're not playing barnet because the reserves didn't use their ground enough last season to trigger a friendly. (i think that's how that deal was arranged)
