I've noticed in a few threads comments and questions about Section 8 Chicago coming up. In order not to bog down other threads, I'm posting this so I can try to answer as best I can any queries about Section 8 Chicago or suggestions on how we could better meet our mission statement.

All questions, suggestions and criticism is very welcome. I can also be found at any Section 8 tailgate, and at the Globe most Monday evenings, for in-person discussion. I have red hair and bad British teeth so I'm easy to spot. You can email me at tom@section8chicago.com as well. The first Thursday of every month is the public Section 8 Chicago board meeting for all fans to have their say - the exact time and location is usually posted here and is always posted at our forum.

Some of the basics are covered in the 'About Section 8 Chicago' description, which I'll paste here.

If you've ever wondered why Section 8 Chicago does something, or thought it should do something else, or just wondered what the hell it is all about, let us know. We can't do more for fellow Fire fans unless we know what you want. Have at it!

Well...it's obvious our Coach could use some inspiration...

maybe add him to one of the chants, like:

    "Chicago Fire!, Carlos Cobos!"

    "Chicago Fire!, Carlos Cobos!"

I don't think many people have issues with the off-field component of the Fire fan experience. I personally think that S8 has done gold-star service to all Fire fans and in particular the young fans who actually go to Section 8 and also fans who go to away games. Compared to four years ago, it seems the FO has a MUCH better understanding of the hard-core fan base than back then and is almost entirely due to folks such as yourself and Ben who logged long hours to make that happen. So thank you, thank you thank you for all that effort because it's really paid off!

Sadly, there's not much S8 can do about the on-field disaster and it's the on-field crap that is causing so much sturm-und-drang in other threads. Really, right now the team itself does not deserve S8 and they're VERY lucky that fans like you, Ben, EsBrent and all love this team beyond all reason because rational folks would be saying "Feck that" right now. I may not agree with your stances on the on-field stuff but nobody can rightly disparage what you've all done for the off-field fan experience.

    -------------

A farmer is lying in bed with his wife when he turns to her, grabs her tits and says "Honey, if you could get milk out of these we could sell the cow". Then he grabs her critch and says "Honey, if you could get eggs out of here we could sell the chickens".

She turns to him, smiles, grabs his dick and says "Honey, if you could get this up I could get rid of your brother!".

Has the board considered starting a new rivalry cup with other teams? That is one way of getting *something* in the trophy case to make the fans happy when their team fails to make the playoffs and any other league or ussf tournaments.
suggestions: new england, toronto, seattle, columbus, dc, chivas, LA.

the rivalry cups should be reserved for teams and/or supporters groups there is absolute hate for, so that knocks portland out of the running.

    ps: I want the Brimstone.

You have to get the Fire players & coaches to start caring about it. Neither Armas or Sarachan appeared to as they yelled into my belt buckle that "it is just another game".

Indeed, here was some talk of doing something with the Timbers Army on the S8 forums recently, but it didn't get much traction presumably because of the respectful relationship with the TA. I think it's tough because we have so many rivals and no particularly close team to us, and we don't play the same team 17 times a season any more. But if anyone has a good suggestion it'd definitely be worth looking into.

Before I get attacked for being a Union fan on a Chicago Forum (not sure how some people take it). I wanted to ask if you all were planing on a trip to Philly because last year's match at PPL Park was EPIC. I like what you guys do. I was dissapointed not to see the mass amount of Chicago Flags. Section 8 is one of the better more dedicated groups (compliment) so keep it going... Whenever SoBs or I see other groups have problems i think "hey atleast we are not Houston"

We'll be back en masse to Chester sooner or later. Schedule was messed up for us this year on all away trips, back-to-back bus trips for Toronto and Philly were a stretch for people.

Did the Front Office or security ever apologize for that racist bullshit attack back in 2008? I know you guys were teh spokespeople for the fans, so if one was ever offered to the fans, it would have come to you. By you I mean the S8 board at the time.

They signed a Club Charter. They fired people. They changed training protocol. They changed game day procedure.

You are an idiot. Crawl back under your bridge troll. If you think we are going to waste time rehashing 3 years of hard work for some troll's amusement you can suck it.

If you actually cared you would know all the answers and you would know all about the steps taken by the team and the security contractor and the all of the many changes made in the last SEVERAL YEARS as a direct result of the incident you bring up out of the blue. You don't care. You are posting simply to further your own paranoid agenda. Get some help Dopey.

see how easy that is? Your hero Andy can't find the time or strength to say or write those two little words. Even to be disingenuous about it when doing so. Like I just was.

It's called sarcasm. I was being sarcastic and disingenuos when I said: "I'm Sorry."
I don't want a hug from them. I'd like them to say the kids were right, and that they are sorry for doubting them.

You forget. I was still active at the time. Thanks for answering my "yes" or "no" question with bs. Ya know, you guys "rehashed" the whole thing last week in the mediocrity thread. If you don't want it brought up, don't bring it up.

Request for an apology concerning the hate crimes that occurred at Toyota Park should go here: http://www.andellinc.com/

I had a quick question. My friend and I want to go to the Columbus game but I can't take advantage of the discounted transportation because I'm only a regular STH. I was wondering if we could go in place of any Section 8 STH who are not going on the trip? I went to a game in Columbus a couple of years ago and it was a blast. We even had a Crew fan throw a chair at Section 8 lol Thanks!

  25. lol u don't go to games
