I'm worried about Chandler definitely, unless he has a pretty major injury, I don't see how playing in 4 or 5 games or parts of game is going to ruin his whole summer.

Rogers is a joke, but I won't complain too much as long as he doesn't play much.

Adu is interesting, I'm not a big fan but if he can pick up the pace of his game he's an interesting player, he looked completely slow in 2009 Gold Cup.

Mixx and Bedoya are the big snubs, and maybe Bunbury, but I think all 3 will all have their shots in WCQ.

Rogers might be a waste of space, but this is a 23 man roster. Not all of these guys need to play 90 minutes every match. He's just another body for training and emergency depth. The only real harm is that he takes away a spot from someone with better long term potential like Diskerud or Bedoya.

Part of me hopes we crash and burn out of the tournament just so we can get a new coach... A big part of me.

Where does 11th Division German soccer fall on the radar?

Edson. Freaking. Buddle. I demand answers.

Giuseppe Rossi shoud've picked America. Kid is more Jersey than Snooki.

The Empty Bucket should be outlawed.

That should cover any remaining meltdown bases.

Yep, fact is the U.S. wasn't a priority for Chandler this time around. That's not to say he won't ever be a major contributor for the team, but at the very least it's a bit of a disappointing decision. Sure, the tournament isn't the World Cup or the Euro, but the possibility of meeting Mexico with a trophy on the line is still something of an event.

No Chandler eh? Man, I'm starting to feel like the USA is that loose chick in high school, who is just barely past fugly but manages to pull in the guys because she puts out at the drop of a hat--then the hot chick comes calling with the promise of a peck on the cheek and the loose chick is dropped like the plague.

Who am I kidding, I never even got the loose chick in high school.

Not sure the numbers from the past few tournaments. But I'd bet that all squad players had at least one appearance.

I have a feeling Bedoya is more focused on a summer transfer right now, and may not really want to be a GC sitting on the bench. I'm not saying he was invited and declined (though I wouldn't be surprised if BB at least talked to him in the wake of Chandler backing out), but I think he has higher priorities at the moment and may not be all that upset about not being there.

100% correct on all counts. The guy is *always* in the right position for his club team, and has been banging in goals for a while now.

He was unfortunately set up to fail in January with that formation, and i think he will look a very different player if he gets a chance in a 4-4-2.

Do you guys not check the USsoccer twitter?

"Bradley on Chandler: "He told us physically and mentally this season has been a long one ... Time wasn't right for this Gold Cup.""

Its his 1st full pro season. He was extremely fatigued I am sure. I dont know if someone has posted this on here yet, but forget it. He was just too worn out & I understand him not being called.

    Adu, Rogers, & Bornstein.... WTF.
How do they get called over Davis, Bedoya, Bunbury, or Gomez? Infact, How do they even get called over Pearce, Buddle, Mix, Shea, or Torres...?

Bornstein has barely played left back lately & was never that good anyways so I dont understand how he deserves a call. Rogers is doing better now that Warzycha gave him his starting job back, but the play of Davis so far this MLS season ECLIPSES Rogers. As for Adu, I am happy the kid found a consistent team now & I hope they get promoted. He has been playing great too, but its in the Turkish 2nd Division. This seems premature to name him to the Gold Cup squad when he is doing decently in a league not up to MLS standard. Bedoya would have made much more sence especially after the weekend he just had.

What am I happy about? I am glad to see Wondo, I would have been happy with any combo between Wondo, Jozy, Agudelo, Bunbury, & Herc. Wondo has great presence & great instincts. He should do well with either Jozy or Juan up top with him. I am also happy to see Nick Rimando who I think is just as good as Guzan at this point in time.

Last point... The problem with Chandler not being on the squad is that, I think he would have played wide midfield which would have put Dempsey up top. Now that he cant make it, Dempsey will probably play midfield with no other option being great out wide. This means it will be 2 of the 3 FWD's starting @ ST. I am going to leave it up to Bob to name the 2 out of Agudelo, Jozy, & Wondo. He gets to see them in camp...

I actually liked what I saw from Wondolowski in limited time. I like Bunbury but glad to see Wondolowski over Buddle, Gomez or Findley.

Thank you for posting that. Too many people are obviously forgetting that he played the entire first half of this season for Nuremburg II.

That makes a 31-game season for Chandler.

I am not happy with keepers...

Rimando sucks, Rimando is clumsy, remember DC era? Rimando vs Pumas, Rimando vs Catolica.

Marcus is too old without USNT experience

I'm sorry, I just think we can do better.

When game day hits I'll be back to supporting the guys though... It's like watching as your child is held hostage except you enjoy it. :(

So what other (and better) options are there?! Guzan is out with his wedding, but he's the true #2 in the pool behind Howard right now. Yelldell could've come along, but Hahnmann has always made himself available and put in a lot of time in flights, training, etc. to serve as a back-up without a shot at the #1 role. Rimando, right now, is the best of the US keepers in MLS, and with a tournament in the US, he can easily swing between club and country.

We're talking about a Gold Cup in 2011, not the World Cup in 2014. And even then, the only real question is who is the #3 keeper........

Tim could have played if he wanted. He didn't want to. That should worry us. Period.
