Barca once again show they can only win in the CL with referee's help. Sergio bisquets should be banned from football. Complete disgrace. The whole barca team is a disgrace.
Hey Portugeezer, you poised a question about le arse fans turning on le voyeur. I have heard some stuff about this the past couple of days & yes there are some rumblings coming from North London. First, le voyeur has been @ la arse for 14 & each of those 14 years, they have finished in the Top 4. I don't believe that was the case before he arrived. Secondly, he is in hot water. New owners & new expectations. Also The Arsenal Supporters' Trust released a statement a couple of weeks ago expressing their "considerable disappointment'' with the club's continued struggle to land major honours, and warned that they would be putting Wenger's policy of trusting young players rather than buying experienced ones under the spotlight at the end of the season. I hope that answered your question about le arse supporters turning on le voyeur. If they do fire him, I hope they have a plan B. They could end up looking like lolpool did this season
I'll tell yer what always occurs to me. Have these people not got any wives, girlfriends or kids? Imagine watching that sort of stuff with your 8 year old son... what do say when he looks at you with a look of disgust on his face? Every team has got, or had, players who do that and I'll never understand it. I'll tell yer something else.. the very best DON'T tend to do it much, if at all. I've watched guys like George Best and he got lumps kicked out of him and came back for more. Are we talking about him as a manager or a person? If it's the latter I can't stand him, tbh. Never have done. All the bloody silly manipulation and manouvering of things to try and get his own way. I can't stand red nose when he does it so I don't see why I should like it when one of our fellas does it. To be fair red nose has cut out some of theworst excesses of the past but he's still likely to try and pressurise the refs and gain an unfair advantage. Great managers though, both of them... no question.
Lets not act like only Barca has diving players....ex: Nani, Ronaldo, Drogba, Torres........ For the red card, it could have gone either way...great defensive kungfu strike.
You run into him, fall to the ground clutching your face, then surround his mother until she sends him to his room.
I listen to a football talk show every morning, and according to the Arsenal supporters, they are split. Half side with Voyeur, and the other side are sick of the same results year after year and want change. For the most part, they just want the team to make some buys. But if you leave it up to Wenger, thats not going to happen, its going to take the board to sit down with him and tell him things need to change. They need some CB's, a boss in mid, and a striker who can score 20 goals and doesnt sit in the med room for the majority of the season. And perhaps a more experienced keeper.
tbf I dont think anyone is acting like that at all amazing that nearly everyone else can see it but Wenger but then again isnt that the modus operandi for Wenger- not seeing what is blatantly obvious
Barca are the worst of the bunch, a team of thugs cheaters and thieves. It's not just one or two divers on the team, its the whole team. And any little foul and you got all 10 outfield players circle the ref demanding a card. At most that was a yellow. And go back to the replay and you will see that his foot was going for the ball and barely touched Alves. Alves is a straight up piece of crap. Still remember a season or two ago when a linesman called him offsides and he raised his fist to the linesman as if he was going to punch him in the face but held back. Didnt even get a talking to by the ref. Barca are the perfect team to represent the corruption that is UEFA/Platini.
That picture frame is so misleading. Look here. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=23314293&postcount=339

Never? They beat RM 5-0, 6-2, etc; Man U 2-0, Arsenal 6-3 agg, etc. I think what you mean is that they look so threatening that virtually every big club is forced to play very defensively (something they don't do against any other big clubs). Even today at home against a busted (Barca has looked shabby for more than a month), makeshift defensive Barca lineup today, the most expensive offense in the world today put out a laughable lineup. This in itself a great achievement by Barca. When this happens Barca's possession does not look threatening. They pass the ball around between defensive players far more because there is no opening. vs Chelsea 1-1 agg, vs Man U 0-1 agg, RM (last 3 games), Inter (2-3 agg). The only team that didn't bunker there was maybe Chelsea in the last leg. The truth is that teams do get frustrated and also know that Barca are a relatively light side so employ a physical style of play. Lots of fouls and collisions that are borderline yellows and off the ball stuff (stomp on Villa, Marcelo stomp on Pedro, Ramos chronic dirty play against Messi, etc). The refs are tasked with trying to keep the game flowing. While an individual foul does not merit a yellow they addition of several of these leads to the ref ready to hand out a red or they just wait for Busquets, Alves, and now Pedro to get "hit" in the face to control the game. Let's not forget that Barcelona's opponents have received several crucial calls. Inter - Milito clear offside goal. Barcelona denied what should have been goal at the end. Arsenal - Messi's goal likely legit. RM-Barcelona - Marcelo's dive for penalty. I think that the only team that definitely got robbed against Barcelona on the balance of *all* the decisions was Chelsea in the 2nd leg. Or it could all just be a conspiracy theory. )
I'm no Alves fan, but for the sake of argument, doesn't it look like Alves basically swings his foot right into Pepe's studs (this is a moment before Pepe's studs just barely graze his leg after Alves recoils)? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y2AdxlFB08"]YouTube - Real - Barcelona 0-2 Pepe Red Card ... Niemiec drukuje Wynik[/ame] There was a play in MLS several years ago where Ronnie O'Brien was swinging through and kicked right into Dema Kovalenko's studs, breaking his leg/ankle as a I recall. If you show your studs when someone's leg is coming through, it's not as dangerous as coming down on a planted leg or anything, but you can definitely do some damage. As such, I think it's debatable both ways, but not egrigiously wrong to have been red instead of yellow. Frankly, the only reason it upsets me is it's annoying to have happened after all the Barca play acting and ref intimidation that had proceeded it up to that point.
I don't think we can expect to win the Champions League, best squad or not, as long as it's this dirty. I'll still cheer for Chelsea every game, but I won't be surprised when we get cheated out for one of UEFA's golden children.
It wasn't a a Red but neither was it a dive unless Alves has some kind of supernatural power to change direction and spin like that. The acting afterwards was hilarious though. he gets stretchered off and then jumps up back on the field. haha.
