Now how is Pique not sent off for that one? Perhaps the Real Madrid players should have surrounded the ref?

EDIT: C.Ronaldo is so wasteful with is freekicks. A lot of preparation and posturing, but little product.

This is such a horrible game from two teams with great individual players who do not need to be playing or acting like this. It's disgraceful. Moreso, I think, from Barcelona. I used to like Barca years ago. But at this point there's no denying it: when they're forced to play another team at their level, they whine and moan and dive and complain until a red card's out. Hell, within 3 minutes of this match, Puyol and 5 other barca players raced to the ref to beg for a yellow card on Ramos for a very innocuous handball. And Danny Alves is a cheat. A dirty f*cking cheat.

How on EARTH is that a STRAIGHT red? It was a straight fifty-fifty. BOTH players had their feet raised. A yellow card AT BEST.

Messi with the goal. To be honest I don't know if this Barcelona team can beat Utd, but I think they've got the better chance than Real Madrid.

    Really depends on two things

    1. How fit are Utd?

    2. Will they get even officiating?

absolutely. but honestly, considering the dirty and cheating manner of barca's play, i can't say a few barca players don't deserve a knuckle across the chin. surely RM wouldn't be so pissed off if they hadn't been robbed a player from a BS red card. all's fair, imo, when the opposition stops caring about professionalism.

    Oh yes.

I'm excited for the post-match press conference. Not the rose-colored glasses one from Pepe, but the 'I just got f***in trolled by another ref' one from Jose.

Pepe will be a massive loss for them in the away leg in all honesty.

He has the energy of two people in midfield. Even when they went a man down in the league game a few weeks ago, they still looked competitive because he was covering ground and kicking people's feet from under them like a mad man.

Despite the ridiculous way the game's been conducted, (and from BOTH sides to be fair... not just Barca), there's no denying that a ManU/Barca final will be better than a ManU/Madrid one. On this showing anyway.

The other thing worth pointing out is that this ia a Barca without Iniesta.

... and Adebayor could have a red for that on the criteria this ref is using.

    Messi 0-2

52 goals in the season, and with that the tie is effectively over.

Utd don't have the midfield to cope with Barcelona but if they go ahead early I think they can pull it off. Rooney will be everywhere, Hernandez will always make good runs, and the mercurial Giggs may produce the moment of magic needed. I don't want either side to win, to be frank if we came into the semi final with the form we had earlier this season I'd like our chances against any of these sides.

EDIT: Messi with a brilliant goal.

He's like Essien (perhaps not this season) but without as much technique. He's a monster, but with such a playing style its no wonder he's no stranger to the red card.

    now they're dominant

messi with a great goal, but honestly, would that have ever happened v. 11 men on the field? i don't think so.
