BBQ is not technically allowed (I've seen grills...). Tailgating happens on the grass by Victoria, lot 13. Yesterday there were probably 500-1000 people out there. And the OCP is across the street.

    And from the Galaxy website:

    "Q: Is tailgating permitted?
A: Tailgating is not permitted in The Home Depot Center parking lots. However, The Home Depot Center has designated the grass lawn outside the stadium between Lot 13 and the Northwest Stadium Entrance as a picnic area for fans. Come early and brown-bag it with friends and family! (No grills, please.)"

This doesn't quit beat the Rose Bowl experience for a true tailgate though... Of course once you come into the Rose Bowl and realize you can't see anything because you are a mile from the field, some of that good feeling goes away.

Friday night games don't work out well for groups and as a result, they're not ideal for MLS.

That's true, but I think it oversimplifies things. MLS attendance probably isn't as group-based as you think, at least not now. It probably was moreso a decade or more ago. Friday nights just aren't great nights in general for MLS.

And Earth Day. A quadrifecta! Or a Tetrifecta for the Orthodox!

But really, I think northern European Easter is the one that matters. The other two add up to less than 3% of the population. Important and I don't want to slight them (I'm married into one of those faiths), but a 3% drop in attendance would be completely lost in the noise of normal ups and downs. Most people who celebrate passover only do so on the first night which was last Monday, a few also on the 2nd night. The following weekend ... I don't think it's affecting attendance.

Yep. Those who wouldn't come out because of Passover wouldn't be showing up for Friday or Saturday games either.
