Ohh we know we're going to get destroyed if we play Spain. But still, there is always the IF factor. What if.....
You know what, If I have learn anything in these long years after years of watching Bolivia play is that for some reason Bolivia plays its best on the biggest stages, ie (Bolivia0 vs 1Germany94, Bolivia1 vs 2Brazil97, Bolivia2 vs 2Venezulea 07). And then when you can't think of a reason why or you feel sure that Bolivia is going to get killed, they lure you back in with the most outrageous scores, ie(Bolivia6 vs Argentina1, Brazil0 vs Bolivia0 away) = ).... I am not calling us giant Killers but futbol is played on the field 11v11.
actually i think that game ended 1-3. you also forgot to mention that in copa america '04 we were beating the host team Peru 0-2 during halftime... but ended up tying 2-2 and had they have had an extra 5 minutes, we probably would've lost.
You forgot to mention that we beat Paraguay in that Wold Cup Qualifier in Bolivia something like 4-1 and they were on first spot at the time.
i wonder if spain accepts whether they would switch up the groups? having argentina and spain in the same group? although argentina would probably still qualify for the next round, it would be harder than facing japan..
Winning them all or in the world cup qualifying stage; 'enough' is what matters...winning these big games and choking on the relatively easier games does nothing except provide good fond memories
Argentina is a far more talented team then Spain. Spain has speed, and that's what's going to hurt us. I'm realisitic. We have a higher chance of beating Spain then we do of beating Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Spains average player is faster then teh aforementioned teams, but the level of talent and technical ability isn't. Spain traditionally plays great against Euro, african, asian, and concacaf teams. More often, they sit back and counter against south american teams. I'm more then confident they will bunker down in COPA AMERICA. They wont play like they would in Europe. They tried to play equal against ARGentina a few months ago, and well, we all remember the score. 4-0. Euro ball is mainly strategy.
For those interested in buying tickets for Copa América, it looks like they are going on sale on April 15: http://www.emol.com/noticias/deportes/detalle/detallenoticias.asp?idnoticia=474670 through the purchase with a MasterCard. I have not found any definite price listings yet, and I'm sure the other non-Argentina matches will be quite affordable... With no real details, I think that ticket buying will be quite chaotic...but we'll see on the 15th. We're buying tickets for the matches in Jujuy and Santa Fe....
is anybody going? I have a week off from the 10-17 of july. I'm going to be in bolivia. If Bolivia has a chance of moving on after the july 7 match against whoever it is. I will try to head down for the july 10 match. I'm not worried about tickets. I am sure I'll find a scalper if not tickets at the box, for the colombia vs bolivia match
I'm going with my mom, sister, 7 year old nephew and uncles that can be my grandfather. No diehards. I'm going for Bolivia v. Spain and BOlivia v. Colombia. Who else is going?
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one bro. Argentina as individuals maybe (and that's a big maybe) more talented at more positions but Spain as a team play the best ball right now of any federation out there. There's a reason Messi isn't Messi when he plays for Argentina. You put him in the Barcelona lineup with that power midfield behind him and he's almost unstoppable.
but i can now say messi is becoming a pefect 10 in not only scoring but passing and distributing..so soon argentina can be better than spain if accompanied by good neough players..which they have

I wish Japan well and everything, as it's a great country with rich culture; but i hope they don't have a field to practice on
lol, hillarius Maddog. Japan and Bolivia have great political relations, surprised we havent been able to get a friendly with them in exchange for them having a private concert with Los Kjarkjas, they love them in Japan. Seriously though, Japan has serious talent on their team, I hope we can do something against them. Does anyone know who has the TV rights to show the matches? I hope it's Fox Sports, as they carry the biggest stuff in Argentina, futbol wise.
The Copa America is huge nowadays and since mexicos in it then theyll definitely show it on univision and telefutura Goltv could take it up again too
I hate saying it, but your right about the mexicans. If it wasn't for them, we'd have to pay 20 bones to watch it in some Bolivian restaurant with the owners kids running around. THe mexican participation brings alot... ALOT of sponsorship deals that this tournament wouldn't get. In a few years though, soccer will be soo popular in this country that we wont need them.
Just researched and as you guys mentioned Univison has the exclusive rights to the Copa America in the US. ESPN bowed out late in 2010, leaving Univision as highest bidder. I'm sure they'll show games on all their subsidiaries like Telefutura and there's anotherone I think. Will have to get the spanish package for Time Warner to watch Bolivia.
^^^^^^^^^^ wow time warner haven't heard of that crappy cable company since I moved from the south. LOLOLOLO... where you at at?
