If we do re-sign him, don't think for a ********ing minute though we are signing a MF this summer.

 

It's been so long since I saw him play my memory fails me in regards to his strengths and weaknesses.

Therefore, I am standing on the sideline because my judgement is clouded.

He always could pass, shoot, dribble. But my question marks about his game are his positioning and ability to play at a faster pace.

Honestly, a healthy Hargreaves would definitely be a big part of this squad.

 

Don't buy this at all. It's not like he's a German. Bayern reluctantly sold him to us cause we kept harassing them. They don't somehow think of him as a forgotten son or something.

 

Yeah, was a longshot. He may not be German, but he's the only real link the Germany that we have.

 

Yeah, as far as I see it it's time to cut this project loose. We got a great year, some great performances, and a scorcher against Arsenal. But why we should continue this farce for another 12 more months after the last 24 is beyond me. And the idea that someone would actually buy him is farcical. Furthermore, if we offer him a 1 year extension just to maybe up his value, we'd have to ship him out in January to get any cash, because he'd be a free agent against next summer.

There is no other way to end this. A good pat on the back and quote from Fergie, and let him be on his way. If he comes good somewhere else, then I'll be happy as a peach for him. But the wages he'd command and the 2 years we've had with him makes signing him an unnecessary risk. Let him move on. Maybe a lesser physical league would be better for him.

Probably. Personally think we should let this one go, but you never know why SAF does what he does. If he does stay, I would think it was because SAF wants him at the club.

 

Owen Hargreaves is still at the club? who knew.

 

I have no problem with Hargreaves staying as long as we bring in at least 1 top quality CM. He has showed he can play anywhere in the midfield or right Back at an above average level. If he ever does get fit again, he is definately an asset. A better version of Fletcher.

In fact, if he was fit. I bet he would get the nod over O'Shea or Brown at RB against Chelsea.

Athletico denied it and Nuri Sahin has a 6 m Euro offer from Madrid according to Bild.

 

If that clause exists, we need to be in for Sahin.
