Well, they do. I saw it on a programme called "Do bears shit in the woods? Well...Duh!!" One of Attenborough's finest pieces.
I think you summed it up pretty well. Carrick did get rather complacent toward the end and I felt Ferguson played a risky game not dealing with retention better when Anelka and Malouda came on. This was the biggest test of the match, Chelsea needed to equalize and pushed their team forward while introducing two fresh attacking players, meanwhile United played it rather conservatively and it could have cost them. Things United did right however: Formation That quasi 4-2-2-2 dealt extremely well in disrupting Chelsea while distributing offensive play. Rooney played a huge part in this as he was the hub of this side, attacking and defensively. On paper it looked like a flatter shape but it was actually more flexible adapting to Chelsea's personal shape. While Chelsea's midfield felt more narrow, United's was more flexible allowing them not to look too overwhelmed. Consequently Lampard was generally isolated and not really supported. He only had Carrick to deal with really who didn't seem troubled, another reason he had a very good 3/4 of the match. When Chelsea pushed up, they still played too narrow and United did very well to push the ball out wide where there was surprisingly a lot of space. Moreover, Chelsea's gameplan failed because they don't seem to have a cohesive united whereas, as mentioned United's is far more flexible. Park and Rooney exchanging, with Giggs cutting in, Hernandez dropping off. This kind of understanding always lends itself to benefit from a side that isn't organized as properly such as Chelsea. I don't think United was infinitely better and it could have easily been 1-1, it's not much of a tactically fascinating battle but a story of a side with a better understanding and cohesion exploiting a side with less of the same.

Respuesta: Re: Respuesta: Re: Champions League: Chelsea Vs Manchester United - 6th Apr 2011 [R] that is Rio's signature. top of the pile always. while i dont think that is what he was doing i agree with you. there is that feeling on certain boards. ive been criticized for not going to other boards but quite frankly some of the ones i would go too are just too volatile and looking for a chance to card a visitor. luckily ive found a few where people generally behave well.
If by worst nightmare you mean the guy that washes my dirty underwear and cooks me German pancakes, then yes, you are my worst nightmare.
500+ posts and still no mention of the main reason we won the game? SAF is ********ing awesome, he did EVERYTHING right here. Great line up, decision to leave Nani on the bench didn't backfire, smart substitutions (leaving Valencia as a RB? For the first time ever. On the road. Against Chelsea.) Evra was so bad, I'm actually wondering if we should consider trying using Giggs as a LB more often?
You all may have talked about this already....but I couldn't quite catch the lyrics in the songs being sung today. One was "Viva John Terry" sung right at the beginning, but the words sounded different. Anyway, any new songs with particularly foul lyrics?
To be honest, I wouldnt bother looking forward to DS' post because its becoming a bit clear that he doesnt love us anymore.
Thanks. We got a bit of luck with the non-Evra call, but I do think we deserved the win. Should be a real good match at OT.
It does not look like a serious injury. I might save him for Fulham, so that he could play the second leg.
Is it just me, or is the dynamic of our games with Chelsea always the same? Even under Mourinho, we'd play well in the first half and they'd do better in the second. I've heard it said before that it's based on technique vs athleticism. We edge them out on the former and they have a touch more of the latter. EDIT: I notice Terry is "fuming" over the penalty decision. Seems a little disingenuous after David Luiz avoided a red card in our last game, their second goal was offside in last season's decisive fixture and in our first league meeting last season, they scored from a freekick they shouldn't have had. But then again, I guess he'd also be fuming if a teammate shagged his wife.
