Probably the best pressure game in a big game I've seen from our squad in a very long time.

Giggs for me was too hollywood for midfield at times, dont think Park and Valencia added alot offensively, even Nani was restrained, like they were told to. Evra was woeful again.

boy oh boy, when the shoe is on the other foot Chelsea fans sure don't like it. shi*t happens and a PK wasn't called for Chelsea. and now everything is rigged and we're a bunch of cheats. i guess the fact that our defense played great and we have an amazing goalie and that Torres dove twice looking for PKs doesn't mean anything.

    sad really.

i'm going to go enjoy this win but know that the job definitely not over yet.

    on to the next :)

    Evra was woeful.

Michael Carrick. Shit. Did you really have to hide in that shell for so long? Everytime I'm ready to write you off, you come good. Keep at it, man. This I like to see. MOTM.

The goal was a great piece of synergy between MC, Giggsy, Cheech, and Rooney.

I have been saying this for a while now

Nani as RWF, Valencia as a RCM and Rafael as a RB in a 4-3-3. Boom.

Given what the two teams showed us, Chelsea sure would be the more convenient opponent for Schalke. So, good luck to em for the second leg!

agree here 100% very mature performance all round. even if that penalty had have been given , and we had drawn 1-1, i still would have thought this.

Is there a point to making this post on the UNITED board?

I was raging at that clown not taking action when Rooney was caught late twice but he redeemed himself slightly with the no-call on the clear penalty and finally booking Miss Torres for a pathetic dive. Other than that my rage was directed at Evra throughout the match for his weak mental and physical play. Everyone else gets a pass. Good result. Next!

It seemed Evra lost his footing time and time again. Slipping continuosly. He was certainly a non-factor today

They were poor today, but we defended quite well. They have the names to make a great team, but they haven't gelled together for months now. They certainly still have it within them to pull out a performance against any team though.

I noticed that Rooney had a bullseye on his ankle. F'n dirty shit.

Ancelotti: "I read in papers he get angry easy. Make him angry, red card, he make it easy for us."

Also, is Drogba on the outs.

i think his post was more along the lines of "we'd rather not face United". i don't think he meant any malice.

    Indeed.

Let's get Uncle Glazer to cough up some pennies and buy Hazard and we can play him on the left. Or get a natural left footer in Costa.

The first bit sure was harmless. However, wishing Chelsea good luck for the second leg is going to bring the knives out ;)
