85th minute. Curling shot to Pepe's left was caught. A little more height at it's in... whew. Their attacks are more varied, sustained and generally more dangerous. We are losing the ball in midfield before we get going, or launching long balls that we cannot get onto the end of... and back they come. We're allowing them to look like a top half of the table side. ever since their goal.
sweet - another penalty to West Brom - Kyrigakos get abused again - Reina brings him down bu it was a DIVE.
******** me. Long ball. One on one. The greek falls down. Reina takes down the attacker. Certain penalty.
I'm done. Infuriating team. Can I just go back and watch some highlights of Fowler, McManaman etc. on Saturday mornings instead??? Have a good day all. Cheers from Indy.
Penalty, dodgy one but hey this happens. 2-1 and we deserved nothing here. West Brom have been the far better side and Kyrgiakos is undone again.
Bla bla bla...major overhaul needed...you get the point. Bring on the summer and open those wallets dear owners.
And I thought that last season was frustrating, but this season has been just one dismantlement after another. We just can't get up for the minnows..
Kyrg blows another game for us, ffs. I'd rather play with 10 men than 11 with Kyrg. Put on an injured Agger, ffs. Doesn't excuse our pathetic midfield though. Think Skrt has more shots on goal than our entire offense. Misses an easy header.
The biggest let-down was in midfield, where Spearing and Meireles, especially wrere virtually non-existent and the back where any old long ball caused palpitations. Continually over-run and failing to pass to a red shirt. The injuries to Johnson and Agger didn't help, of course, (and, once again, we lose when Agger isn't there) but the players on the pitch were woeful. Carroll and Suarez were simply feeding on scraps, and all over the pitch you couldn't see where a moment of inspiration coming. Blame it on the international break, blame it on a poor referee if you want; for me the salient point is that West Brom were the far by far better side. And Liverpool was poor, once again against a bottom side. No effort at all. Hell, Thomas and Odemwinge were like Messi and Villa out there! Did somebody mention overhaul-- clear-out would be more like it.
... and Dalglish had better start doing his audit of the playing staff. I think a real push for honours would see a number of players who started today not starting at all, and maybe just be on the borderline of being in the match-day squad. However, this is the quality that gives you the league position at which we find ourselves marooned. So this is no false position given the start to the season we had. The real disappointment today was the simple lack of bottle from so many of the players, Reina, Suarez and Carroll apart. A better finishing side would have handed us a rugby score-line.
And both Chelsea and Spurs dropped points today. Another missed opportunity, and against effing Brom. Could this be any more infuriating?
