Good news in my book. =-) Playing in another league was hinted at in the 'suspension' announcement, glad to see it's actually happening. Long shot, but... how many ex-WPS players do you think Chicago F.C. will attract, considering they're looking to re-join in 2012?
I could win the league with ex-WPS players. I would hate to see all the efforts to bring the CRS forward be given away. I think there should be a premier-level of women's soccer in the US - and not just a propped-up, eastern seaboard one. Millions of girls playing soccer in this country, thousands playing at the college level, and a professional league is barely alive. We should make a list of the top 15 or 20 companies which rely on women's buying power, strongly reach out to them, and put teams in their towns. Clothing, personal products, cosmetics, ... any one of them can afford a team sponsorship similar to a Nascar sponsorship. Cripes, Hope Solo alone could sell a TON of stuff to guys.
