Yup, we either end their season or they do ours. It's going to be epic thats for sure :p Hopefully Donetsk can provide the shock of the century and cause an upset.

I think Arbeloa would handle him just fine (ramos not so sure) and I doubt they will be seeing enough of the ball to pose much of a threat. Add their injury prone squad (particularly at the back) and I just see this being over in the first leg. I wanted us to get spurs cos I felt they would be the easiest for us.

I think you may be right. Unless FCB drop surprise points before they come to the Bernabeu, I think the league is about done. They have: Getafe, @ Villarreal, and Almeria before they face us.

We have like 300 players on a yellow right? If I remember correctly, Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, DiMaria, Albiol, Ronaldo.. right?

It's not my fault you made yourself look like an idiot with your lame theory.

Everything will be clear after Villareal game. If they get three points it's pretty much over.

I don't understand this overconfidence. Spurs have not only caused huge problems to the current European Champions Inter Milan, they qualified ahead of them in the group stages. Then, they knocked AC Milan out of the competition.

Sure, we have a good chance of going through and sure it could have been worse, but 'seeing this one being over in the first leg' 3 weeks before the game even gets started is exactly the kind of shit that will come to bite you in the ass in short order.

Ask me how I know

Is the next round of game being played 2 games on the same day?

Like when we're playing Tottenham, will there also be another game playing at the same time or are they all on different dates? I didnt quite catch it.

From the Barca forum, Tottenham in no danger of having anyone out for the 2nd leg from yellow card accumulation. Anyone know when the cards are reset?

Hopefully the team will be injury free and Kaka will feel like playing again.

I'm not so sure, look at the surprising teams Barca has dropped points to minus Sevilla who are historically a tough opponent for them. Also under Pepe they've hit a bit of a blip in February only to bounce back and finish strong, this season they haven't quite bounced back yet and aren't really playing at top form. Until I see different, I think the league is closer than many think.

Agreed, think Arbeloa maybe the best option, but will Mourinho drop Ramos?

Its about matchups. Historically, Italian clubs have always struggled with English teams because of their pace and width, while we struggle with organized defences. Englishteam usually struggle against spanish teams cos we dominate possession and play on the ground , not the air they are used to.

Spurs were effective against a geriatric Milan and a benitez coached Inter. You give them too much credit imo. Spurs would lose both legs to the current Inter team in a rematch. Even a well organized defence like lyon conceded 3 goals, talk less of a retired frenchman and fringe english defender, or is it corluka that would keep tabs on CR.

Spurs strength is in their attack and our defence is more than able to hold them, particularly playing at home where we are yet to concede. As to bale, all we need is a sit home RB, while marcelo can keep up with the pace of lennon. Their defence on the other hand dont stand a chance.

Add their injury problems and I am quite confident of our chances expecting the tie to be out of their reach after the first leg. Anything less would be below par on our part.

Pretty sure they're reset in the Semi's, so a player doesn't miss the final due to bookings in previous rounds. However there's a strong possibility that we will miss 1 or 2 for the actual semi's if we get past Spurs.

We play Tuesday the 5th and Wednesday the 13th. I just booked two very important 'meetings' on those days -- calendar is blocked!!

I agree here. Getting Tottenham wasn't a bad draw, the bad part of the draw was not having a chance to face Schalke in the Semi's. Wish they could get to the final (and us) but the chances of that are damn near zero.

There is no reason why we shouldn't get past Tottenham. In fact we should have the game one in the first leg at home. We manhandled a Milan team which gave them a go till the final minute, plus our attack would be an absolute nightmare for their midfield and defense. They have a chance no doubt, but we will be very very heavy favorites.

Only thing which could make this draw better for us would be to switch barca-Shaktar with Inter-Schalke.

I agree. Milan played like they should of played at San Siro in the 1st leg. They pressured Tottenham from the 1st minute and should of won the tie. Gomes just had one of those days.

Milan tried that with us but failed misserably. We are good enough to beat Tottehham home and away. Plus, a few of our players have the experience of QF's in the champions league aswell as an experience manager. Tottenham are newbies to this shit.
