Palestine - Iraq is stille 1-1 (94th minute)

The 0-2 win of lebanon in Vietnam is also some surprise, just like the draws of Kyrgistan and especially Tajikistan........

Thailand did some good business in yemen and are back in competition (0-3)

But I'm from the Netherlands, so the big match for me is tonight in the carribean:

Netherlands Antilles - Antigua and Barbuda

I just hate how the J-Leaguers spend a week training together, then 48 hours before the match, the Euro-based players come in and are automatically inserted into the lineup. Back in the last go-around, you really only had to deal with Nakata, and occasionally Ono and Inamoto, but now you have half the starting lineup showing up 2 days before the match, and they aren't significantly better than the domestic players.

If Yanagisawa didn't play for Sampdoria, would Zico start him?

Anybody know what happened in Yemen???

According to fifaworldcup.yahoo.com, the score was at 0-0 in the 94' for about 20 minutes. Then it goes to 0-3 in FT with no goal scorer information. 0-3 should be the score if a forfeit was declared!

Does Yana ever even play for Sampdoria?
They should never haved dropped Ogasawara, Okubo, and company. All Japan needed was a fresh B-side to defeat Singapore. Nakata and Nakamura fly in the day before the game to a much hotter climate and they are ready to lead the team?

I doubt Yemen would forfeit, though I did notice that too. It was probably FIFA not knowing what they are doing lol. However, I shouldn't put down their efforts, the scoreboard they have of live qualifiers is the best I've ever seen and is revolutionary in getting qualifying scores up to the minute from anywhere in the world, props to them.

in a long run, maybe we could have been better off if fujita didn't score and singapore scored the winning goal during the injury time.

hahaha it seems like korea pulled a great draw against some junior highschool selection side.

The fifa matchtracker is a great thing, but its not perfect. Once they start the clock, it will keep ticking whether they update the match with goals and substitutions or not.

It looks like the 3 goals were all regular goals. Not a forfeit. Fifa has updated with goalscorers in the 69th, 72nd, and 78th minutes for Thailand.

well at least we can safely say that the standard of football in Asia has risen a hell of a lot. Teams like Maldives, Singapore, and Hong Kong would have been double digit thrashings only 5 years ago. You rarely see a blowout nowadays regardless of the team.

That or these new coaches suck ass.

we need Coelho out now, PERIOD. Maldivies...and my god that #15 guy from that team looks like a 15 year old (I'm 15 years old, almost 16 soon but atleast i am 6 foot tall). How could we come up with a draw against these guys? We should have trash em like 7-0 or something. This is a disgrace to Korean Football, time to shine the old boot and use it up straight coelho's rear end. Someone needs to kick Coelho to Mars or something, this is truly pathetic.

I still don't believe we lost to Oman few months ago...this is horrendous...

hahahahaha konami must be busy to reallocate points to each player in next version of winning eleven.

speaking of maldives i believe we talked about them during the 2002 qualification but maldives is like the last paradise. probably they have the most beautiful islands and beaches on the planet and yet not known by many tourists because of their location.

seems like Iran was the only team that met expectations today!!! Laos 0-7 Iran

very strange results across Asia!!! Does that mean more teams in Asia are becoming compatetive? that would be great!

    Japan
    Singapore 1-2 Japan

Fire Zico NOW!! If he stays, Japan WILL fail to qualify for WC 2006.That's for sure. Zico says the team is making progress in interview, but I really don't think so, and most of the players say the same afete the game. Zico is nothing but a disaster for Japan as a coach, and some of the players selected by Zico's abused standart will cause even worse problems as the contest goes into the summer and fall.

Japanese are "mi-ha", and stupid JFA selected this celebrity for our national team. When Zico either is fired or resign, those JFA officials responsible for naming Zico should walk away from JFA. JFA should show some initiatives now before the nightmare becomes a reality.

We have dozens of far better and "pro" coaches in pool.
We have plenty of quality players to replace some of Zico's selections. Zico has has no tactics and strategy. What he says to the players is "think and do it by yourself". Japan's strength is in collective football, but Zico is not giving and building a teamframework at all.
The team is increasing losing morale as Zico uses Europe-based players unconditionally.

The team can't be worse than this.
    Then, why should they wait?

About the Singapore game, the Euro playes were bad-shaped in fitness. Considering the temperature and humidity as well as lack of preparation between the foreign-based and domestic players, Zico should have started domestic players plus Nakata and one more Euro player, and he should have subbed Euro players into the game if necessary.

Zico started 6 Euro-based players who all looked very tired after 10 min into the 2nd half. But because the rule allows a team to make up to 3 substitutions, Zico couldn't take Inamoto out, who apparently was run out of gas and creating big problems in offense and defense, after Nakamura, Yanagisawa and Takahara had already subbed out. Zico can think rationally, and he can't make tactical substitutions too. Well, I understand this because he has never had a game plan(Ouch!). So, when he make subs, that's when something worst has already happened.

Well, here's my evaluation on the players.

    10(Great)<---->5(Poor)
    --------------------------------------------------------
    Narazaki-----5.0 lacked communication with defenders
Kaji---------5.0 good in offense, really bad in defense
Tsuboi-------4.0 made another fetal mistake again
Miyamoto-----5.0 couldn't keep the defense line solid for 90min
    Alex---------5.0 learn on defense please!
Inamoto------3.5 IQ's low, doesn't learn from past lessons
    Ono----------5.0 can't be a central midfielder w/ bad defense
Nakata-------5.0 was tired of this aweful team
Nakamura-----3.0 always slow in every aspect
-->Fujita----6.0 year baby! he did his work in the given time
Takahara-----4.0 fighter but has no sword to kill enermy
-->Tamada----6.0 did well in debut, give him more chances
Yanagisawa---1.0 should play in JFL, can be a good friend of Jo
    -->Suzuki----5.0 same as Takahara

And these are the players I don't wanna see in the next game.

    Yamada(Urawa)
-->Worst NT player in past decade. Period

    Yanagisawa(Sampdoria)
-->This FW doesn't shoot and take a risk(and when he shoots, the ball goes nowhere)

    Nakamura(Reggina)
-->Typical ball player, can't be any help for any team.

    Inamoto(Fulham)
-->Inconsistency is his word, and he uses only 3% of his brain, should come home and be trained in Gamba junior youth team again

    Tsuboi(Urawa)
-->Just can't handle the ball, quit football and find a job in track and field

We have better players in plenty. There are those experienced ones, and there are young guns who are worth testing.

hahaha i liked inamoto's iq part. that's a good one.

what the hell is going on anyway? of all so-called top 5 asian teams, japan and china have pulled tough win against minnows two games in a row. saudi barely beat sri ranka 1-0. korea is virtually out of competition and already preparing for wc 2010 as they will lose to lebanon in the 2nd crash and lebanon will not lose any points against other minnows like maldives and vietnam, which may beat korea again. iran's the only one that looks solid but who knows? when was the last time they kept consistency? their favorite jordan is next so we'll see.

other than top5, iraq 's taking slow start. i still think they will win over uzbek and palestine at the end. group 6 is so boring. no team is worth to watch.

watched the game at 8 pm on cable. watch 90 minutes of one of the most awful games of my life.

i bet the night before the game the NT pricks were drinkin and excersising their arm at the slot machines and jerking themselves off watching porn in their hotel rooms(which i bet was given for free by the hotel) and Maldives coach called up Coelho and took him out to strip bars with the Sri Lanka ref and bought them free lap dances

Kim Tae young sucks as a captain and he should never be allowed to wear the band again. and the next game should be played by the under 21 team instead of the pseudo stars who think they are the shiet

they better get their blown heads out of their asses and figure out whats wrong
