Here we are again, Grounhog Day, same opponent, same stadium, same round and almost the same tight result a year later. The only difference...Mourinho. Let's forget about curses and fears, let's play like we know how to and let's move on! Nuff said.

    Hala Madrid!

OMG, I just hope we'll score two in the first time and NEVER seat on our asses lifelessly like Bayern yesterday! We don't have an impenetrable defense so we can't rely on it too much... We can't lose control over the game and in the midfield especially. I can remember only one game where we actually were very strong at holding a score - with Espanyol away. Please, guys, don't let this game be such a nightmare for your fans like Bayern did!

Agreed, though I'm pretty confident Khedira will start, he's one of Mourinho's favs.

The question is, if he is fit enough to start a game/play 90 minutes.

In this particular match, based on the scenario, I would not personally prefer to see Khedira starting.

I've been cool all day long, haven't been thinking of the game at all. No formations, no news.

As the hour comes closer though, i am getting a little bit nervous though.

Another plus for the visitors is the return to fitness of Delgado's fellow Argentinian Lisandro, who missed the first leg and whose influence in last year's triumph over Madrid at the same stage of the tournament has not been forgotten at Lyon. Before leaving for Spain, the former FC Porto striker penned a message on the tactics board that read: "Team-mates, I want us all to leave our lives out there on the pitch, everyone of us together. If we must go out we will die on our feet with our heads held high. We will challenge for every ball as if it were the last time we ever did so."

Seems like Lyon is going to play at 110%

Anything less than 110% from us and we're going to be dissapointed come the final whistle.

With all due respect to Lyon 110% from us would be nice but not necessary to advance IMO. We just need the boys to play smart, the onus is on Lyon here. I'm feeling confident we can do this, that away goal has gone a long way towards soothing my jitters

I hope the players have your confidence today, they'll need it.

    And I hope you're right.

Haha, I've been thinking about this game since as soon as the final whistle blew in the Bernabeu when we last got knocked out by Lyon.

The Champion's League, for me, is the best part of the season and the most important, prestigious competition Real Madrid can be a part of. Getting through this round would mean the world to me, especially since I've never seen us get past this round in my 7 years of watching Madrid in this competition.

I'm gonna be a very happy guy if we advance. ;)

Agreed. For once, we don't need to be the team pushing for a goal. It's important to remember is if the game ended as it started, we're through. We're prone to mental mistakes at the back, which is what worries me the most because talent wise, we should take care of this tie with a certain degree of ease.

I dont know why but these confident predictions are making me very, very nervous. Lyon are repeating 7 of their players from the team that beat us last season - and went on up to the CL Semi finals.

6 years is way too long to have to wait as a RM fan. Tonight we have to do it. I hope the crowd doesn't stop roaring for all 90 minutes and scares their little players shitless as soon as they receive the ball. Most of all though, I hope that we have luck on our side. I don't care if it kicks up a whole Ovrebo style storm, I just need us to go through. We've caught the wrong end of the stick way too many times.

********, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

So UEFA didnt allow us and Lyon to wear supportive shirts for Abidal. They already had a rule against wearing emotive t-shirts and rejected the appeal lodged by us and the cules this morning to have it overturned for our game.
